Founding fathers still cast long shadows in a city where the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall remind visitors that history happened right here. The Philadelphia Museum of Art's steps became famous long before Rocky ran up them, while inside hangs an impressive collection spanning centuries. Devour a proper cheesesteak at Reading Terminal Market, where locals debate Pat's versus Geno's with constitutional fervor. Sports fans find religion at Citizens Bank Park and Lincoln Financial Field, where wearing the wrong jersey requires genuine courage. The Barnes Foundation displays masterpieces in thoughtfully designed galleries. Families with young children might venture to Sesame Place for a day with life-sized versions of television friends.

"It’s excellent"
Sonesta Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square
"My stay very nice next month I will ask about mid size room Again very nice stay 😊"
Hampton Inn Philadelphia Center City-Convention Center
"Liked proximity to Chinatown and many restaurants, shops and attractions. Good sized rooms, cost comparable to other hotels in the area and free breakfast."
Hyatt Centric Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia
"Overall, it was a very good experience. We liked the room, staff, as well as the restaurant. The location is great. One major concern is the design of the bathroom area (likely fueled by having spent a lifetime in health care). Having no sink in the toilet area results in the light switch and the door being repeatedly touched by unwashed hands. I think the light switch was originally on a motion sensor but that feature was not functioning. Also, I found having no door at the shower and sink area less than desirable. Otherwise, it was truly an enjoyable stay. ."
Loews Philadelphia Hotel
"Its a very nice place staff are phenomenal all around I definitely will stay there again aoon went to just relax myself and I aute did that."
The Windsor Suites
"Quick & easy checkin, the staff was very helpful & accommodating. I didn’t have a balcony but I booked the skyline suite on the 24th floor & had amazing views of the city. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, clean & didn’t have that cheap hotel feeling."
Philadelphia Marriott Downtown
"Great atmosphere and high quality hotel. Will definitely stay again if I visit Philly in the future"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Philadelphia
- Book for the cheapest times: Philadelphia offers great value for money on a budget, especially in January, February, and December when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For those interested in exploring the city's rich landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions such as museums, art galleries, theatres, sports venues, live music spots, and iconic architecture, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This affordable visit provides an excellent opportunity to delve into Philadelphia's urban history and culture, making it a budget-friendly destination for travellers.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: For a trip to Philadelphia, you may discover exciting savings by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com, which sometimes highlights enticing last-minute offers. If you're planning a spontaneous getaway, the Last-Minute Deals area could help you find hotels near your travel date at reduced prices. Additionally, by using the Smart Shopping tool available via the app, travellers are more likely to compare hotel prices and amenities effectively. Enabling email alerts or push notifications may also ensure you stay informed about any flash sales and special promotions.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a more affordable option for your stay in a Philadelphia hotel. If you’re interested in a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could potentially offer a more budget-friendly option.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre typically tend to be more expensive; however, with Philadelphia's outstanding public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
