I can't say enough good about this property! The place is a beautiful bed & breakfast with so much history. Steve and Theresa were the best hosts! Steve knows a lot of history and is always willing to share! Theresa serves up some awesome breakfasts! Will definitely stay here again if back in Gettysburg!

This beautiful old farmhouse is removed from the congestion of downtown Gettysburg but just by a quick 5 minute car ride. The owners are extremely hospitable and knowledgeable of the farmhouse itself and the history of the area. They served a delightful breakfast each morning.I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

A fantastic B & B. Steeped in Civil War History and just outside of Gettysburg. The breakfast was all fresh and home made. It was the best breakfast at any B & B we have ever stayed at. The owners were very accommodating and shared the home’s history as well as advice on visiting Gettysburg and the surrounding area.

Owners were very nice and accommodated our request for an earlier check in. Breakfast was delicious. Easy and plentiful parking. Room was well appointed and very clean. It's a little further away from the downtown than I initially realized, but it only takes about 10 minutes drive. We will definitely return.

This is an amazing property and BnB. Steve and Teresa were absolutely wonderful! The property is gorgeous with plenty of walking areas. Quiet and night, but close to Gettysburg. Our room, as the rest of the house was very clean. Breakfast was delicious. Steve and Teresa are great! Friendly, attentive, informative and a pleasure to spend time with. This is the only place we will stay when in Gettysburg and can’t wait to go back!
Geoffrey, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Everything about the Lightner B&B was amazing! The owners were delightful and knowledgeable about the battle that took place just a few miles from their historic home. The rooms were decorated perfectly to themes of the civil war, and the setting of the home brought you back in time. The breakfast was delicious, and we didn't want to leave. We stayed in the Lincoln Room, which was amazing! We would HIGHLY recommend staying here, and if we are ever in Gettysburg again, we will definitely try to stay here again!
Michael, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

The first night the room was too hot because we did not not think about turning the heater off. I found the bed to be uncomfortable and had trouble sleeping. The hospitality was wonderful and breakfast was great. We learned a lot of Civil war history. We were surprised to find that the other couple staying there was from our hometown also.
Lois, 2-night trip

Best stay EVER

Weather was great meanwhile we thought we were going to be dealing with rain the whole weekend. When you check in they go over the history of the lightener farm and the use of the home back during the civil war. Booked the Lincoln room which turned out to be the best room. The room had its own door to enter from the outside with a porch with several rocking chairs that looks over the left side of the property. Breakfast hands down was the best I’ve ever had on all of my stays in Gettysburgs over the past 7 yrs. The room was beyond comfortable and the shower was great with amazing water pressure. I will definitely be rebooking for all of my future trips to Gettysburg.
