I have never been more disappointed in a hotel - the hour I spent there trying to get a room (that I had already booked and was confirmed) was without doubt the lowlight and scariest portion of my trip to Oaxaca. We arrived at 9pm to check in only to be told they did not have our room, nor our reservation, nor any relationship with Expedia. It quickly became clear that this was a bad situation and they were attempting to charge us more. However, the room they claimed to be able to offer us was apparently one that did not lock and didn’t have hot water. After trying to call Expedia and not getting through, we elected to leave and stay at the next hotel we found…not an easy feat considering it was day of the dead and most hotels were at full capacity. Expedia should pay for my last minute hotel reservation and remove this hotel from the platform and ensure this cannot happen again - as a young woman, I felt incredibly unsafe and very nearly had to drive six hours home due to the failures of this hotel. On top of that, the desk attendants and manager with whom we communicated were rude and at times intimidating.
