London theatre trip
The hotel was dirty, we asked to move rooms because the sink was broken and blocked, the room we were move too the air conditioning was broken, the bed was damaged(we have photos) the were on the ground floor and the windows didn’t lock room was dirty and the breakfast was a plate of bead to toast and on our last day we were asked to leave the hotel early as we were informed the hotel was closing down that day and the bank was for closings on them so we had to leave by 12, all in all one of the worst stets we have had on through hotels.com

Awful
The hotel was nothing like an “upscale hotel” Dirty, damaged and needs a lot of work done. Looks nothing like the photos advertised. And what’s with the big holes cut out of the windows?! Would never stay there again

It is much more worse than you could dream.
I have stayed in some dives in third world countries, but pretty sure the Cranley may have been the worse ever for me. Too many issues to list, but the promo photos are far from accurate and I wish I taken some of my own to update with. Still, the WiFi worked fine.

Great location. Everything else is terrible.
Nice quiet street along from Gloucester road. We were on top floor, stairs carpet is a trip hazard. Room looks nothing like the photos. Very hot even with window open and a/c not working. Taps leak in basin. Toilet not clean. Basin does not drain. Curtains don't fit and falling off rail. Breakfast. Fine if you like instant coffee, cheapest white bread, processed cheese wrapped slices. Margarine not butter. No fruit or yoghurt.

The Property was nice from the outside. Seating area outside could have been tidier. Rubbish and cigarette ends. Had to ask for Towels no glasses to drink out off. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Bathroom was alright apart from the brown stain in the bath. Unable to open the windows need some attention paint wise. Furniture outdated and broken no handle on one draw and no bottom in another. Breakfast was a disappointment not what i call Continental Breakfast.

The staff are incredibly rude and dismissive. We arrived and there was no room ready. We were dismissed from the premises and told to come back in 3 hours. Upon our return, we were again treated with rudeness. We cancelled and left. They refused to refund our $. We have written multiple times and have received no reply. Expedia was no help - our issue was handed off to 10 different people. The place smells; it is run down and looks nothing like the pictures. BEWARE!!

AVOID!
It's a rundown place. Once it's fully restored, and only then, it may be considered a real hotel. Threadbare carpets, broken faucets, dirty toilet, etc. And, no shampoo!

I refused to stay in the hotel and booked another. Upon arrival I was advised there was no key and staff would need to let me in each time I left my room. There was a rancid smell of damp throughout, disrepair and damage to furnishings/carpets etc There was no light in the lift and you had to navigate it in darkness which was scary and I didn’t feel safe enough to sleep there. Bags of dirty linen ‘ready for collection’ were scattered through the corridors and there was no food or drink availabilities. Never have I walked out of a hotel but this needs shutting down and I want a refund..!

Thank you for asking me about my experience with Cranley Hotel london. My experience was terrible. So far the worst. The first impression is , an old, dirty and carless owner that leaves the property fooling apart. Pictures missing on the wall, torn carpet and full of stains in the hall/lobby. On arrival 8pm , the room 103 wasn't clean at all. The receptionist apologies and gave a better room. Bigger room, Kind bed. But.... toilet hasn't been flushed at all, the bath not clean, no empty bin, and the open soap around. No towels, One bulb not working in the bathroom, 2 not working in the room. Remote control not working ..Batteries??? The receptionist has no key for my room... He asks me when I leave the room, I must ask to close the door with his master key. Monday.. Breakfast.. The most miserable I have ever seen, All guest around complaining : Toaster working only on side... so it was a queue, No cereals , no pastry. ; Only bread, butter , marmalade and a plate with very fine cut cheese and jam scatter around, Coffee from a Saches and a flask of hot water, a few glasses and cups dirty. so... we leave aside. Breakfast was the same Tuesday. On Wednesday after a lot of guest complains, it improves. Monday, Later in the evening when I came back the door wasn't locked, and the room wasn't clean. Tuesday, Later in the evening when I came back the door wasn't locked, the room wasn't clean. I ask for a toilet roll. Never ever in this property and also I will not do a boo

When booked, the pictures made it look fantastic.. My room was old, dirty and worn out (room 103). Curtains were tatty, carpet thread bare, unable to open window (cracked glass too). I went down for breakfast, no cooked breakfast just some Toast and cereal.. No where to sit. No organisation or staff to help.. No Bar in the hotel(says there is on the website) so I checked out early with no breakfast. (no coffee facilities in the room either. Asked for a printout receipt (no paper in the printer).. Lovely area to be based though..

Great location of the hotel. However, the hotel wasn’t what I was expecting. It wasn’t clean with the curtains having stains on. The bedding was okay although only one pillow per person. The rooms curtains were falling off. In addition there was water marks and stains on the paint, also the carpet had rips in etc.

What was unique was how rude the staff were..... what was bad was you could not lock the bedroom door so anyone could get in. The toaster is broken guys - just get a new one - or don't offer breakfast which was terrible. My room was pretty damp with rotten wallpaper and the water was not hot. I could go on. There was nothing good - except leaving!
