The Lowry is a fantastic venue. It is compact, the acoustics are great. It is a very well designed and a much pleasanter experience than the crush you get at bigger venues. Good access by public transport, but had to stay overnight nearby.

Salford has a lot to offer I did think it was closer to Old Trafford this was not the case. Its on a lively street as you walk towards St. Peters with nice bars, eating places and the Opera house.

A nice part (or near neighbour) of Manchester. Easy to understand why so many new luxury tower blocks going up here.
"Lovely to have air conditioning on a sweltering hot night, especially in a budget hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location for Salford quays."
"Hotel is lovely and clean with a great lounge where you can help yourself to tea & coffee, use the microwave or fridge freezer. The staff were so welcoming, going over and above to make our stay comfortable, and continental breakfast in the morning was excellent, everything you could think off, served by a very lovely lady, sorry I didn’t get your name. Thanks for making our weekend."
"Positives first, as it was overall a good stay for what we needed:
Staff - honestly interaction was minimal, but in a good way. Check in and check out was friendly and efficient.
Location - Perfect for visiting Old Trafford, an easy 5-10min walk. The city centre is walkable along the canal too, about 40-45mins.
Parking - For our two nights, we were able to register at reception (via touchscreen) for 48hrs free. This allowed us to check out, watch the afternoon match, and collect the car in the late afternoon for the drive home - although there was a slight queue to leave, which is to be expected.
Shower - Not the most aesthetically pleasing bath/shower, but you couldn't fault the performance, just about instant hot water and plenty of pressure every time.
Negatives; Sleep hygiene was the big one for me. The curtains didn't sufficiently keep out the street lights, it wasn't bright as such, but definitely noticeable and not healthy at night. Given the busy road outside, we shut the windows and put the fan on, but when we turned off the entrance light for the room, the socket that the fan was plugged into automatically switched off.
I'm unsure if we didnt operate the fridge correctly but it didnt seem to be chilled really and there did seem to he a slight smell from it - although visually it looked clean.
I recall breakfast seemed a bit expensive. Otherwise, just needs blackout curtains and 3 working plug sockets at night, then I would recommend without question.

"The facilities in rooms are excellent, a fully equipped kitchen area, great bathroom, dining table and chairs, you could live their permanently as it has everything you would need. Situated two minutes from Selfridges, the Arndale Centre and bars and restaurants it is very convenient.
Be aware there is a £100 deposit preauthorisation required until you have checked out and the room has been inspected.
My only criticism is the bed is very hard, the option of a mattress topper would be good. "
"We had a nice stay, Nick the receptionist guy was super super friendly! He made our stay. The surroundings is close to the main city, and was walking distance. The room we had was big enough, and clean. "
