Quintessential francophone Canada. Quebec is a must visit city. Not only is it rich in North American history, the culture is simply great to experience. Contrary to urban myth, the people are more than happy to communicate in English if you need it.

All of our interactions were positive. Restaurants were varied and good, shopping was fun. We toured the Plains of Abraham, took a boat tour, visited the Art Museum, drove around the Ile d'Orleans and did a lot of walking through the historic city.

Quebec is a very busy place for tourists (no surprise). Try to move away from the tourist areas, west of the old town, Montcalm, to enjoy a slower local place, if you have the time. There is an indoor plaza selling bread, cheeses, fruit and veg etc.

We did a walking tour of Old City with a brief visit to the river plane. Jacques was a most excellent guide. The city is exquisite. We only planned a brief stay for this, our first visit. Yes, we will most certainly return and stay for several days!

This was our first visit to Quebec City and we are all ready planning on returning very soon. Everyone was polite and friendly (even though we spoke very little to no French). Traveling as a family we all felt very safe at all times around town.

Quebec is stunning. The weather helped I am sure, but it is so beautiful with lots of shopping, great food options, and just lots to do. All of the people in the shops, restaurants, museums and hotel were absolutely wonderful. We will be back!

Quebec is beautiful. There are many places to visit. Visit the Chateau Frontenac, with a guide. I recommend the trip to Montmorency Falls. The copper museum is also very interesting. The boat ride along the river is fantastic, it is worth it.

Hotel Chateau Laurier Quebec
10/10 Excellent
"The Hotel Chateau Laurier was an excellent hotel in the heart of Old Quebec. Tons of restaurants within walking distance and the port and lower area within the Citadel walls is only a short walking distance away. Our room was on the Plains of Abraham side and we had a wonderful view of the park. The hotel was very clean and the room was large and comfortable. 5 out of 5 stars all around. "
"The hotel has an amazing restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great for getting to old Quebec. However, walking late at night is not recommended. "
