Rye is full of quaint old streets, shops, pubs and restaurants. There is an extraordinary micro brewpub called the Waterworks - if you like that sort of thing it is a must to see. The Mermaid Inn is also another must see in the town. Well worth it

February stay was perfect. The town was not too busy. Lovely place to wander around, very pretty and plenty of history. Many varied options for eating and the Ship Inn, in particular were dog friendly. Will return.

Visit the heritage centre. Watch the light show. Follow the heritage trail using the £2 map for sale at the centre. There are plenty of places to catch a cup of coffee or a cream tea.

Breakfast and evening meal in the hotel with just what I wanted great choice nothing was overdone cooking wise.
The location for the hotel with just what I needed short walk from the town.
Hotel does have entertainment in the evenings and it's great to hear a good singer.
Many times before and we'll definitely stay there again."
"Fabulous location. Helpful staff. Very historic. Took dog who was allowed in room and terrace only. The lounges were empty and it would have been nice to access those. Breakfast was nice too. "
