"Clean and tidy had all you needed for your stay but the room was somewhat dated but fine. The pool was fine, as was the steam room and jacuzzi. Overall had a nice stay. Food was good too."

"Found a room on the Hotels.com app but stopped by the hotel to check it out before booking. The front desk initially said no rooms were available, despite the app showing otherwise. After some persistence and a 10–15 minute discussion involving another staff member, I was shown a room I liked. Due to system issues, I was told to book through the app. I did so, paid, and received confirmation, which the clerk also saw—but they still couldn’t assign the room due to aforementioned system issue. "Stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the room and the breakfast was really good. However we decided to order a snack from the menu one evening. I ordered a sandwich, the menu stated fresh bloomer bread, brown or white, tuna, spring onion, mayonnaise and black pepper. When I received this it was 2 thin slices of 50/50 bread, no spring onion and the thinnest filling of tuna, more like spread. The charge for this was £8.00!! Definitely not worth the cost."

"We stayed one night and had a lovely stay. The rooms were immaculate and even though we were facing the courtyard outside we had a peaceful night. The staff were lovely and we would definitely stay here again. "

"Lovely location and staff. Shower was a bit difficult to get working and pressure was poor, but it's an old castle. Some extra charges for a cot, even though the room was booked as 2 adults with 1 toddler, not sure if hotels.com or the actual hotel's problem but something between them one way or another. Made the trip look cheaper than it was."

"Our stay was very comfortable, the room had everything you need for a long and was very clean however the bathroom was small and the shower water was very hot and couldn't be cooled down. Due to attending the 80s concert we couldn't check in until after the 11 o'clock deadline however the staff where happy to wait for us, Thank You. Breakfast was delicious and relaxing as its pre-booked and staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a great place within Sedgefield."

Great cooked to order breakfast as well as great lunch and great dinner - you can tell that quality ingredients are used and prepared/cooked by competent chef and team. Bar adequately stocked and reasonable prices for hotel. Overall good value stay and very dog friendly."

"Great stay at the Dun Cow Inn. Just what we needed after our wedding at Hardwick Hall hotel. About 15 min walk from there. Beds were comfy, shower was nice and big and the full English was freshly made and nice and hot. Good amount of parking and all at a decent price. Staff were courteous and friendly. So yep excellent and would stay again if in the area. "
