I give five stars because the hotel is great . Very good location. You can easily walk around and get what you need . I like the most is the hotel stuffs . They are truly there to help all the guests. Hospitality is about people. They really get that. I appreciated their help. Even the first and the second night my room was just next to the party area . I can heard the music very loud in my bed . I couldn’t sleep well after a long day traveling. They help out to change another quiet room for me . that makes my sleep mush better. I will definitely recommend this Hostel .

绝对差评！二楼房间楼下就是酒店club，每天音乐放到凌晨2点，第一晚和服务员沟通后答应降低音乐声音，可是没用，靠一颗安眠药入眠。第二天晚上十点半沟通，说太吵，根本无法入睡，明早打算提前一天退房，服务员不同意，且音乐声音依旧很大。找Expedia客服沟通依旧无效。半夜12点实在无法忍受音乐，临时预定了万豪，换了酒店。房费是没有退的，两晚都没入住，因为服务员不同意提前退房。还有，淋浴水非常小，完全没办法痛快洗澡，必须用更长时间才能洗完澡，热水也不热，水温很低。如此多好评从何而来不得而知！绝对差评！

I booked my stay at the Mayan Monkey Social Hotel/Hostel as I was traveling solo and the price was low. I chose a 12 bed female dormitory. I was initially placed on the first floor, however, I had an asthma attack; which I attributed to mold as I’m allergic and there was a musty smell on the 1st floor. When I explained that I had an allergy, staff reassigned my room to the 2nd floor. Once my room assignment changed, my symptoms subsided and I stayed for 10 days without issue. To be fair, I’ve stayed at other, high end hotels in Cancun and experienced similar issues with a musty smell and allergies. Cancun is humid, so mold is everywhere. I had a great experience, staff were friendly and helpful! I especially appreciated being able to store food and cook my own meals, The hotel is in the heart of the hotel zone, within walking distance of a fabulous supermarket, shopping mall, the flea market, shops, restaurants and the beach! There was free daily painting classes, yoga, games such as ping pong and beer pong, nightly entertainment and happy hour from 7-8 pm where drinks were buy one, get one free; at a cost of $180 pesos!! I enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. The room, bathrooms and showers were clean and always available. My fellow roommates were respectful and quiet, I had no issues with sleep! I definitely will rebook the next time I travel solo! It was a great experience!

My Favorite Stay in Cancún! From the moment I checked in, I felt the good vibes! The staff are friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and modern, with plenty of lockers for your things. The location is perfect—right across from the beach and walking distance to shops, restaurants, and nightlife. I loved the bar and DJ nights; such a fun way to meet new people from all over the world. They even let you request a takeaway breakfast if you have an early tour, and the laundry service was a lifesaver before heading home. The pool area is perfect for relaxing in the afternoon, and the social atmosphere makes solo travel feel anything but lonely. If you’re looking for a place that’s safe, clean, and full of energy—Mayan Monkey is the spot!

Solo traveling first time ever in 20s I was worried before I left. What if I didn’t like it or felt unsafe? Right away after checking in I felt the reality of this place. Amazing experience. Where else can you find a place to stay this affordable with this high of a standard. My stay at the Mayan monkey was nothing short of amazing. The breakfast was ridiculously good. The staff were super helpful and I felt very safe and welcomed by everybody there. I even lost my AirPods and a staff member found me and returned them. Looking forward to seeing you guys again. Bonus is the bathrooms are spotless.
