Great short break
A very friendly and welcoming place, perfect base for a short visit to Northumberland. Knowing it is essentially a pub with rooms, we weren't expecting hotel standards. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, perhaps the bathroom needs a revamp but it was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was superb - a very hearty full English which set us up for the day. We ate there both evenings too. Due to Covid19 there was a limited menu but the food was good - very generous portions! Susan and team were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Clean and comfortable stay
We only stayed one night and didn’t eat there but it was a comfortable stay, rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms face directly on road, but there wasn’t a great deal of traffic so we weren’t disturbed. It’s a bit of an uphill walk out of town (if you’re not driving) but quite manageable.

Delicious evening meal and breakfast, nice friendly staff, little bit further from the centre of Alnwick than we are used to and the drinks were a little bit pricey. Would definitely stay here again, welcoming little boozer with nice clientele

The staff there are really friendly and cant do enough for you . The rooms themselves are exactly what you expect from a small hotel and bar, comfortable and have everything that you need for a short stay. The breakfast was lovely as well.
