Resort is fantastic! We had an absolute blast with our family. Everything was perfect the entire stay. Food and drinks were excellent and the rooms are over the top. The staff is amazing and kind. What a bargain this trip was. We will always remember this beautiful trip.

My family of 5 enjoyed our stay. We were visiting Mexico with two other families. It is very difficult to find hotels that accommodate 5 people and therefore we were limited in our choices of hotels. The rooms were very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The Royal Cancun grew on us during the week we stayed. It is a calm, quiet environment, with self lef activities available during the day. Having access to the Royal Sands accommodations was a great addition for a change in scenery. The Italian restaurant was great, as well as the seafood restaurant at the Sands. We would have loved to have more activities for the family to do at night (we were there for a week and one night they had a silent disco that was really fun). We thankfully were thwre with two other families so we were able to entertain oursleves with games and swimming. I would recommend for families or people that are looking for a calm, relaxing vacation

Very family friendly resort with lots of comforts for kids in a very safe environment. You can sit and wait for your dinner while the kids play in the beach. The pool is kid friendly and separate from the adult pool bar.

The Buffet food was great. A lot of options for food, the downside from that if you ordered food from the kitchen the time it took was a bit too long in my opinion. Some of the servants come out rude at times. I think out of 5 servers that helped 3 of them were awesome! One of them was so good even our kids remembered his name. Manuel was the star. We will come back again. The Villa was awesome as well!

Great property. It’s small and mostly quiet with very friendly staff. Don’t come here if you want to party. The food was great quality and variety. I loved the 24 hour room service. It was well run and they had a good selection of food. The beach is always calm and you can walk in either direction to another beach if you want. They have a big pier that you can dive off of and float around, snorkel etc. We saw some cool fish and stingrays around the pier. We took Ubers to Costco, Walmart and La Isla shopping centre. If you time it right they are cheaper and nicer cars than the taxis. Our room was a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit and it was very comfortable. 3 lcd tvs and a great kitchen. There is also a cute resort cat that’s been around for 12 years apparently. See if you can find him and give him a scratch on his belly and a treat. I’d definitely go back.

Awesome staff, closer to downtown Cancun. The beach is okay but not in the stop shape due to overgrown seaweed. Restaurant is large enough for such a small resort. Room service available (and free for the all inclusive!) which is very convenient for family with kids.

It was good for our family of 5. Great room, lots of space for all of us. The kids pool was perfect for us to swim together. Kids club was close and convenient. It was a bit loud in the evenings with the sounds of people at the pool - but kids were so tired from playing all day they slept through it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of food variety that tasted good. It was so nice to eat on the beach and facing the water.

The staff was excellent!!! the buffet was very nice; good food and also had the option of ordering off a menu. We had steak one evening from the menu at no up charge and it was delicious. The kids enjoyed the amenities at the facility. The sister hotel offers more dining options and a show. We attended the Mexican buffet and the show at the Sands. The costumes for the dancers were beautiful and the authentic dance, outstanding. Provided for dessert were authentic Mexican pastries and cookies. We were up graded to an ocean view room at no cost and at ground level, nice! If you want to do excursions ask at the hotel, we went through Viator and it seems that the hotel could have offered at much less.... At least search this option. We had already booked prior to our arrival. The water had a lot of seaweed, there were some areas that were better for swimming. I enjoyed the area that we stayed, the waves were not big. The beach area was kept clean and monitored by security. We used the spa services and Elizabeth was wonderful!! Definitely treat yourself. We paid for the all inclusive having teens with us, the drinks were good, not watered down. The kids enjoyed alcohol free specialty drinks at no extra charge. On our trip home the kids shared that they already were missing Mexico. That's a memorable trip in deed. We would for sure return to this location.

The Royal Cancun makes for a lovely, relaxing, fun, friendly and delicious vacation. Not as sparkly new or fancy as its sister property, the Royal Sands (to which you have all-inclusive access as part of your Royal Cancun stay), the Royal Sands is hacienda architecture with updated room decor. The restaurants are excellent, though limited in number. If you want more variety, go to the Royal Sands for several more included restaurants. The fresh station - omelettes in the morning, a rotating selection of specials at night - is a must. The beds and pillows are comfortable, the layout spacious for a family of five. The suite includes a full kitchen for those not taking advantage of the all-inclusive. There are many free activities including a guided kayak tour of the nearby mangrove forest. Lovely people and well-kept pools and grounds make this a very relaxing stay. Can’t wait to return!

We have stayed here before multiple times. Family of four with littles a few years back and now teens. The property is clean and well maintained. For an older property this is a must. Our house keeper Nora was excellent and maintained the high standards that the Royal is known for. This last visit the service was lacking. We had to request service multiple times, and if you wanted to keep the drinks flowing, either alcoholic or none, you are better off just going directly to one of the bars yourself. The dining options are limited, and this is well known for this location, but in the past the food was much better, so it didn't matter. Clearly the food options are in transition along with the service ranks. Lastly, the beach was not maintained, especially when compared to both adjacent properties. Just too much algae and no effort for medigation, at least while we were there. It was made clear to us from the very first interactions, that the property had been purchased by another much larger corporation, as if that was their excuse for all the changes. Only time will tell for this location if we will be back or not.

The staff are extremely accommodating. Needed a Dr and Dr Claudia came to our room 3 times. I have asthma’s and did not like the hotel perfumes. Very loud A/C which bothered all five of us. Food was good every day. And the Mexican show at the sister hotel the Sands, is a must to see. Really it’s an 7/10 . l we loved the cabanas on the beach but no surf to Listen to .beautiful clean landscaping and the pools were excellent. Food and drink service were great as well. They never pressured us to listen for their points system somewhat like a time share.
