It was very efficient and convenient to be able to check in online in advance. The room was small but functional and comfortable. As mentioned in the reviews, the shower room was small, but I didn't mind. It was nice that the tap water was drinkable. I stayed in a triple room (double bed + bunk bed), but when lying on the double bed, I hit my hip on the corner (bottom part) of the bunk bed. My wife also hit her hip, so I don’t think it was just my carelessness. I’m sure other guests have also hit their hips, but they just didn’t report it out of embarrassment. Surprisingly, I slept well on the bunk bed. I slept soundly for nearly four hours on the bunk bed and then slept for about five hours on the double bed. The toilet paper was a bit cheap. This summer, I stayed at affordable hotels in Munich, Salzburg, and Spiez, but the toilet paper at this hotel seemed to be the roughest on the skin. However, I personally don’t mind. Overall, I think it’s a comfortable hotel.

ibis really puts the "budget" in budget with this chain, and this hotel fits the mold. Somewhere between a prison cell and a hotel room, the facilities here are functional to the extreme, but generally clean (linens fresh, did have long black hair on floor, and I'm blond...) Stayed here multiple times, staff is always great. Easy to walk over to the Bahnhof and multiple tram lines run nearby.

Good value for money

Good location near the train station and with three different tram lines easily accessible. The room was clean and modern, nice shower, toilet in the “cupboard” a bit claustrophobic. Room is quite small, not made for a lot of luggage. The hotel is perfect for a short stay for a night before heading to the train station or the airport (airport bus leaves from just outside the train station).

The hotel offers all the basic amenities you would expect and is good value for money situated in a very central location with walkable distance from the city centre. We used the hotel for a visit to St Jakobs-Halle, so we weren't in the hotel too much. Firstly, the staff are friendly and courteous and the hotel is clean. The breakfast was good. But the hotel is a budget hotel. This means that you shouldn't expect too much: the room is quite small. The double bed just fits in and there isn't much circulation space. You live out of a suitcase. The shower cubicle and washbasin are right in the bedroom and the toilet is separated from the room by a thin door.

Convenient, slightly out of the way hotel within walking range of main Basel train station and, therefore, of easy tram system. A budget, no frill affair, the hotel is serviceable. Frequented by a younger crowd. Not too close to restaurants.

Clean and friendly for a short stay

Easy check-in and friendly staff on arrival. We were only there for a night after a cancelled flight, so only there for a few hours. But we both slept well and no problems at all whilst there! Not the biggest rooms, but for the price absolutely perfect.
