My friends and I stayed 3 nights and everything was wonderful. The ladies at check in were very kind and made us feel like very special guests every night. The plum tea is a must order drink while staying there. It's crisp, refreshing and just what you need after a long day of walking around he city.

Honok Hanok is a hidden treasure. I am a woman travelling alone and my room was safe, cosy, clean and perfect for walking around the palace, gardens and galleries. It was my last stop in Seoul and would recommend to a solo traveller.

I booked this room with no notice when it became painfully apparent that my son and I could not continue staying with my parents (bathrooms accessible only through a bedroom should not exist.) The mattress took up about 1/3 of the floor, I think it was a queen and we slept great on it. No dresser or closet, but there was a shelving unit and hooks with a handful of hangers. The bathroom was a typical Korean setup - no separate shower/bath and drain on the floor - but the toilet was thoughtfully curtained off so that it and the towels wouldn’t get wet. Don’t worry, they give you bathroom slippers and the wet floor magically dries overnight. The staff came in every day to make our bed, refill the filtered water, and replace the towels.
Loved the property, a traditional Korean hanok home converted into a lodge. Through the building entrance, you walk into a small courtyard with a tree and some seating. You take off your shoes before going through the door to the checkin desk; there are lockers for the shoes and it’s actually very nice to walk through the hallways and common spaces without worrying about tracking in dirt. There are rooms with traditional mats and tea tables and floor seating; I think it was a tea house during the day. The place was 50 ft away from the busy food street and around the corner from a famous samgetang restaurant. Our host Cathie was lovely and super helpful and spoke English. And always accessible and responsive on WhatsApp. We loved our stay here!
