Great hotel
Kieron, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

I stayed a night at Rose and Crown, the room was the most affordable in the area and to my suprise its one of the most beautiful room i ever stayed at. It was perfectly clean, quiet and super unique as its a 400 year old building.
Barbara, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The building is gorgeous with considerable history the rooms are spacious warm snd clean. Car parking is a bonus
Pauline, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Good location. In center. Needs refurbishing. Couldn't connect to Internet. Needs better management of the hotel.
Zachary, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Old building so expect wonky stairs and quite a walk if you are on the top floor. Good receptionist. Value for money.

2/10 Poor

Awful.

Charming old building. Nothing blocking the window in bathroom. Realised in time to see some weirdo trying to film on phone across the road. (Staff denied was possible till I insisted they come to room and they put a dirty towel up.) The room was very dirty. Slept on top Of covers and luckily I carry my own pillow.
Scott, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

To be fair it was a cheap stay but the property is very old and unloved. Clearly whoever owns it had no intention of doing any renovation or long term plans. It’s just a lumpy bed to sleep on for a few hours. Nice general manager who is clearly doing what he can. The restaurant and bars are all closed down

Back to the Rose and Crown

Good stay again cheap as chips into Peterborough in 20 minutes as long as you wake up early!

Glen, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Very quiet old fashioned hotel in need of a face lift. The two guys i spoke to in reception were excellent. Unfortunately the room had a few issues.
Douglas, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Terrible Place

the rooms where dirty and not fit to stay in, they would not refund us we had to book alternate accommodation
Steven, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The manager, and the staff namely Carissa, Rita, Ahmed and Martin; we’re very attentive and so friendly. I could see they worked hard to keep up appearances. Only one issue I had was when I was out the night before the day I left, code for door was changed and I was stuck, till management let me in. Apart from that a pleasant stay and would recommend to friends and colleagues.
Imran, 7-night trip

2/10 Poor

Filthy

The room was filthy. My partner and I returned the keys and went somewhere else. Do not be deceived by the pictures. It was a non-refundable booking, but I paid for insurance. The receptionist said was two star, but there is no excuse for a filthy bathroom and filthy window sills. We did not stay because we suspected we would be eaten alive by all manner of bugs overnight. Avoid this place, it’s shocking.
Nana, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Underwhelming

Reasonably comfortable room. Disappointing that no bar service or hot breakfast was available. Woken up at 1:30 am by a security guard trying to kick down a door for guests locked out of their room!
Mat, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Area seems unsafe, hotel rooms not cleaned, don't even think the bedding had been changed, rubbish on floors, half used toiletries, no toilet rolls, bins not emptied
Stephanie, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Rooms filthy bed linen used no food or drink facilities cups in room filthy and workers staying in hotel noisy st night i paid for delux and got a awful room wall paper falling off mould window seals had no paint it was old mouldy shower not cleaned just filthy
Sharon, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The room was disgusting sheets did not fit on beds, mattresses were filthy and toilet not clean, damp coming in, carpets not hoovered and not facilities for drinks. When we arrived it said on google the the place was closed. On making more enquiries I found out that the 5 star rating was for 2015 and has not been inspected since and since Covid all facilities had been shut except room rental.

Sheet did not fit the bed, pillows stained snd smelled sweaty and old. Description stated queen bed, it was two singles pushed together and of different heights and firmness. Desvription stated an Iron was available, none so asked at reception none available even though ironing board in room. Room dirty with debris on floor. Windows dirty and didnt close properley, rattled and noise came in from outside. Only a small amount of toilet paper on roll, had to ask at reception for amother roll. Very poor stay. Nousy
