I decided to try a hostel, knowing full-well I"d be sharing a room with others. I naively thought people wouldn't come in at 2 am (they did), my ear plugs could drown out the snoring (they couldn't handle the volume), and that people wouldn't slam the door which could have easily been shut quietly (6 times within 10 minutes, really?). My bad; lesson learned. But the overall poor lighting of the lobby, the fact that the pool doesnt even open until noon in L.A., the lack of staff and accommodations for breakfast, and the cold, leaking basement area for "lounging" were more than I could take. I chalked it up as my financial loss and booked another hotel for the rest of my stay. Staff were great, however, I will not be staying here again.
