Highly recommend this hotel

Lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly. It was very fresh and very clean. The room was well appointed and very large with a comfortable bed and lovely air conditioning There was tea and coffee and bottled water in the room it was also lovely as you did not have to pay for parking as a lot of other hotels charge for parking it had a lovely swimming pool and a lovely restaurant. The food look amazing but I did not eat there. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good day and bad day!

We had good stay how ever the bar at the hotel closed at 10.30am they had turned off the coffee machine ! Breakfast was lovely in the morning and we talk our time eating . We used as a base to go to lingfield racing which was a terrible day not one winner !

Good but lacks plant based choices

Lovely hotel. Enjoyed the small gym. Compact but functional overall. Many stairs were a challenge for heavy suitcase. Disappointed about breakfast choices. As a plantbased eater who is not into processed foods, having choice of only vegan sausage and fruit not worth the cost of buffet.

Outstanding. Was a last minute booking after a late airport arrival. Despite me arriving tired during the early hours of the morning the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Room was beautiful, comfortable and well stocked. Very impressed!

Great place to stay!

Nice hotel with excellent facilities. Chose this hotel over others in the area as it had free parking, air conditioning and late check out options. Breakfast was great, very well organised and plenty of choice, worth paying the extra for. The staff were all really pleasant and helpful, especially Tibor on reception. The room was spacious and clean, mini fridge a bonus. We had an issue with the air con which was making a loud noise, but the staff very quickly arranged another identical room just across the corridor. Really can't fault it, wish we had booked 2 nights so we would have had time to use the pool. But we'll definitely stay there again so spa and pool next time!

Nothing Elite about this place

Such a shame that this hotel has changed hands. Now owned by Britannia Hotels. Virtually deserted car park. Tired exterior. Unkempt gardens. No conversation welcome on check in with simple - that’s what you’ve booked- comment when I saw Double Cosy room. Doesn’t state the word ‘cosy’ on the website. Food would not be served in the restaurant but the bar. ‘When the chef gets here’ I was told. The room was indeed ‘ cosy’. Small but ok for one. Bathroom and sides were clean but the floor could have done with another vacuum. Decided to walk out for food elsewhere. Star Inn, just along the road. Had a walk into the Spa and swimming pool. Used to be lovely. Just not a good aroma, tired and unkempt now. No staff manning it. Deserted, gave it a miss. Had a broken nights sleep on a squeaky lumpy mattress. Bumpy pillows with a musty smell. Quick cup of tea, after I’d cleaned the nozzle of the kettle of whatever detritus had nestled itself there! Checked out with not a nod of acknowledgment from the two ladies on the front desk. In my opinion, the staffs attitude is as tired as the hotel. Needs a major revamp now as sadly in decline. I don’t think that Britannia Hotels is going to achieve this. Asylum hotel accommodation incoming I fear.
