Overall, our three-night stay at Ella’s Cottages was a disappointing one. Great location and concept, but let down badly by failing infrastructure. After a long journey, we arrived on Friday evening to discover that the cottage we were allocated was not the same as the one photographed on the booking site - this had already been allocated. Then, we discovered that the cottage had a termite infestation. We called the night porter who responded immediately and moved us to another cottage, although this one did not have hot water in the shower, which the hotel staff hoped would be fixed on Saturday (it wasn’t, due to parts not being available). In the interim, we were given access to another cottage with a working shower. We were given the opportunity to move cottage again on Saturday, but given we had already moved once and were only staying for 3 nights, we decided to stay put and live with the cold shower. Unfortunately, the air conditioning then stopped working, with us having to call for maintenance on Saturday afternoon and, again, during the night. Even when working, it was intermittent and made a screeching sound. The cottage was so hot at points that it was noticeably cooler outdoors, no mean feat for KW in May! There is much to like about Ella’s Cottages - the location, traditional KW layout, the outdoor areas, breakfast and staff. Dwight on the front desk sought to resolve our issues, but was let down by the infrastructure and offered us a part refund.

Everything was wonderful here - location, rooms, pillows, robes, pool and lounging area, reception staff and the morning breakfast baskets were a delightful, delicious way to start the day.

I never leave a review but I had to with this stay. As far as the property and location goes-awesome! Customer service was also great along with the cute breakfast baskets they delivery every morning BUT room #20 that we stayed in had a horrible noise coming from behind the door where the furnace/water heater, whatever it was it was constantly going on and off and making a very loud pitch noise. Then the back bedroom I slept in had non stop noises coming from behind the wall from 7am sharp ALL day long so I couldn't ever sleep in past 7am and I also couldn't nap during the day because of these noises coming from behind the wall. Do not stay in room 20 if you can help it. Other than that the place would have been amazing.

Beautiful cottages, clean, comfortable loved the grounds and closeness to everything! Beds were comfortable, cottages spacious clean and quiet. Loved the pool area and able to easily rent bikes to use for the day!

Antes de mais nada, o hotel é lindo e muito bem localizado. Mas tive o azar de me hospedar em um momento no qual os quartos necessitavam urgentemente de dedetização. A quantidade de baratas (eles chamam de “palmetto bugs”), de todos os tamanhos, era enorme. Na segunda noite cheguei a acordar com uma delas rastejando em meu pescoço. Troquei de quarto, mas, neste novo, as baratas eram ainda maiores (fotos). Só tive paz no último dia, quando **finalmente levaram a sério as minhas reclamações e dedetizaram o quarto**. Apesar do descrito, e da demora em resolver o problema, como já falei o hotel é lindo, com um café da manhã ótimo (servido na varanda de cada quarto), e com ótima localização.
Esta foi a maior de todas, caminhando pelo travesseiro e se instalando no painel da cabeceira da cama.
Este painel de madeira estava infestado. Muitas, de diversos tamanhos, saíam dali.

Supposedly coffee was delivered to the room each morning for three days. A double room with three people staying there. Each morning, the thermos contained roughly 1 cup of coffee, not even close to full. The Keurig machine in the communal kitchen was also unstocked with coffee, and had no water in it. I had to search for a faucet wher I could fill the Keurig reservoir myself. The desk clerk on duty for two of the three days was less than helpful (first day guy was good). All in all, very mediocre service for a $700 per night room. I would not go back.

This was a great place to stay as it was close to Duval Street but not too close from a noise perspective. The property was well maintained and the rooms large. A great bathroom with both a bath and separate shower. The breakfast was a hamper supplied to your room and offered a variety of food. The only negative I can say about Ella’s would be the price as it was very expensive!!

Ella’s cottages exceeded our expectations in so many ways! From welcome drinks when we came in, the spacious rooms, and the beautiful property, to the friendly and responsive staff.. it was a great stay. Every morning breakfast is delivered to your room with a great selection of bites. Walkable to duval and all attractions of key west. We all left saying we can’t wait to come back and stay!

Service was excellent at every encounter. Breakfast was very European and I loved the fact it came in a basket so we could enjoy on the porch. The bed was real comfortable. My only recommendation is at least one chair with a full back w arms for older people who need assistancein getting up & down.
