A stay near the beach

Do you want to stay bear the beach? Will you spend most of your time outdoors and come to the hotel only to sleep? Do you want good coffee for your trip to beach? Do you want a room with working bathroom and non clogging tub? Do you want a pool at your stay? Do you want it to be affordable? If yes, then THUNDERBIRD MOTEL checks all these. This was my first visit to OCEAN CITY and it was just gorgeous. There is miles and miles of beach and wonderful waves. We arrived at night very soon after STORM ERIN. The place is about 3 min away from the beach. So i was able to see sunrise everyday! The front office workers are very nice and responsive. My room was spacious. Bathroom was smaller but very functional. Someone in the comment section has suggested to bring your own hanger. I did and it helped. Being your own extension cord as well. It helps. No coffee pot in the room. But coffee is available in the front office. No dining water. Make your arrangements. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Highly recommend getting 2 or 3rd floor so that you can leave your door open for cross ventilation. Cons Ac was noisy No hangers No exhaust in the bathroom. I wd recommend this to anyone seeking a less expensive place to crash while visiting OC, MD.

Jeepfest at the Thunderbird motel

My son and I went to Jeep fest in Ocean City Maryland. The motel got good reviews, decent price, and was in a good location so I booked it. The good, place was clean and had a refrigerator and microwave. front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom had plenty of towels, wash clothes, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Beds were decent and plenty of lighting. The bad, the motel is dated(which isn't a deal breaker), the tenants that stay there are loud, not really considerate of others and come and go all hours of the night(not quitely). If you are a partier and just need a reasonable place to crash with a short walk to the beach and a pool, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a quite place to relax and enjoy the beach, there are better choices.

Honest review

Check in was great, rooms weren't terribly dirty I just have high standards when it comes to cleanliness. they don't really like to give extra towels, the comforters you can tell are never washed. The beds are very firm. The water in the shower would constantly change temperature so I had to continuously adjust them. It's definitely out dated but it could have been worse. You get what you pay for! I went cheap so cheap and average is what I got.

Solid Stay with Classic Charm and a Few Quirks

Stayed at the Thunderbird with my son great location, easy beach access, quiet even with a full house. AC, fridge, microwave, and TV worked great. Pool was spotless, linens, pillows and towels were plentiful, and the room had good lighting and a handy table. Carpet was heavily worn bare feet turned black. Time for something beach-friendly and easier to clean. No bathroom exhaust meant Once the bathroom door opens; odors get pulled into the PTAC return and gently reintroduced through the supply duct like recycled regret. The “eco” shower head was clogged with minerals had to remove it mid-shower just to rinse. Staff clearly care, but a few upgrades would go a long way. Would’ve liked in-room coffee and more reliable ice, but the safe was a nice touch and parking was easy. For the price, it’s a solid stay with character and potential. I would stay again. Thanks Thunderbird Beach Motel. Thumbs up!
