The staff here were very friendly. The location is great as it’s near the train station and the centre of the city.

Best hostel in the world?

The best hostel I've ever stayed at. Clean, super friendly staff, great breakfast included, towel included (should be at all hostels but isnt). Would stay here every time I visit Galway!

Right beside Eyre Square. Breakfast was delicious continental. Lovely brown bread. Shower room was fine, a little dated.

Great stay, but far from cheap

great location, very nice breakfast, friendly staff, all very clean. But also you pay for it - it's one of the most expensive hostels around, and this was February

The atmosphere was fantastic. I am a solo traveler and absolutely loved my experience here. I met some amazing new friends and the staff was also incredible and easy to talk to. The living area reallt lent itself to being an easy place to meet new people.
Melissa, 5-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Perfectly located in the center of Galway, next to the train and coach stations. Lack of common room is largely compensated by the friendliness and support of the staff.

Galway and beyond.

Place was very friendly. Staff were very helpful especially Tom and Kerry.Very close to city, trains and buses. Also for trips to Aran islands. Not the cheapest of breaks but occasional bargains could be had. My bus home to Shannon and from Knock to Galway were outside the hostel,so no need to be anxious

8/10 Very good

The staff was very warm and friendly. Great options for things to do in the area and free breakfast and tea/coffee every morning. The kitchen smelled of delicious baked goods every afternoon I was there :)
Nia, 2-night trip

Was met with a very warm welcome by the worker at the check in desk. Clean, comfy bed. Was room is a good size. Even though I didn't really use the common area, it was well equipped and a good size for the size of the hostel. It's location is perfect for exploring the city. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Great solo traveler stay

The women running the hostel are very nice, friendly and great hosts in general. It was my first ever hostel experience and could not be happier. Thank you !

What a grand stay!! This was my first solo trip ever and i felt very safe, taken care of, and welcomed beyond my belief. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay- or better staff. I know y’all pay them extra to be kind to me ;) House on the water, boat in the window- the american dream baby. I love you Galway- & others. Mwuah!! -L

I had such an incredible experience staying at Galway City Hostel—this was the last leg of a two week trip to Europe for me, and it was my first time traveling out of the states. I had friends from home with me for other portions of the trip, but was traveling solo when I hit Galway. I could not imagine how I could’ve felt more at home and welcomed here. I had a blast on the pub crawl lead by Luke, guessing people’s zodiac signs with Tom, and getting to know everyone who was around while I was. There’s something special going on at Galway City Hostel!

Ariel, 10-night trip

they really want to make sure you’re safe, Tom especially did extra measures to make sure younger people and women were safe and it was very clean and excellent
Kate, 3-night trip

Nice spot. Staff were very friendly and helpful when I asked for some local options. Breakfast was provided which was a nice surprise. Beds had individual curtains around the bunks, which my previous hostel did not. The additional privacy was welcomed. Parking options were a little bit of a walk, but manageable if you require it like I did. Would stay again.
