My brother and I took a road trip from the Chicago area to catch an Iowa Cubs game. I chose Hampton Inn because of the proximity to the stadium, good reviews, and previous experience with the brand (not this location).
Overall, we were pleased. Our only disappointment was that we booked because they had a pool and hot tub.
Upon check in, we were told that not only was the pool and hot tub closed for cleaning and maintenence from the weekend (we checked in on a Wednesday) but the partner property next door also had their pool and hot tub closed.
I later snooped around and discovered that the partner pool was, in fact, being used and the Hampton pool and hot tub had not been drained. Completely to the contrary of what we were told.
Not a huge deal but it would have been nice to have a qyicker turn around on the cleaning
We were also looking for bottled water and were told that its only for diamond status.
So a normal customer like me cant get a bottle of water that probably costs them 20 cents to buy.
overall, I did love the property and woukd come back. Just with adjusted expectations
