Classic and Cozy

A Coastal Gem!
We had the most lovely experience! My partner and I stayed in the queen delux room and it was perfect. The hotel is so quaint and well- kept. This is exactly the type of place I look to stay at! It’s a few blocks from town and only steps to the beach. We will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful and Relaxing mini get away.
The front desk lady accommodated us to have our rooms in the same building. The suite was stunning - with a separate bath from bathroom. The fireplace, cabinets, sofas, and bed were so lovely. I wish we got to stay longer to enjoy the restaurant downstairs. I love that they had hot coffee and apple cider ready for us before we went out in the cold.

Dangerous design, irresponsible manager
Extremely dangerous design and manager that dodges responsibility for dangerous design. We stayed in the suite with a fireplace and were woken up by a burning smell. The fireplace burns so hot that it melted the cover of a cushion on the sofa next to it. My mother even burned her hand while trying to remove it. The wall next to the fireplace is so hot it could cook a steak, I can only imagine what will happen if you to accidentally lean on the glass or metal frame. None of the fireplaces in the other hotel or our home are like this. It’s a safety hazard! For the safety of future guests, we voluntarily brought this up to the general manager, instead of thanking us or being concerned about my mother’s injury, he charged us hundreds for damages (only the backside of the cover of one cushion is damaged, so it’s easily reparable, but they priced it for all 3 cushions). They claim it’s about the details and “consistency”, but the old sofa already has discoloration, the dresser had stains, and the bathroom tiles are in a disgusting state (see for yourselves). The room is cramped with the sofa bed out, so only place to store the cushions would be on the sofa next to the fireplace. If placing the cushions there is creates a hazard, then don’t place a sofa so close to the fireplace to begin with! That fireplace is a ticking time bomb waiting for accidents to happen. There wasn’t any signs warning about the fireplace. They’re lucky my mother wasn’t seriously hurt.

We stayed at the Courtyard with the Cannon Beach Hotel collection. Our room was nice, but we did have major complaints. I really wanted a fireplace because I wanted to relax in the room. We turned on the fireplace and it was producing a strong gas smell, so we shut it off out of caution. It was a slightly windy night which it often is at the beach, and the wind was howling in the chimney all night long.It was hard to sleep. My other complaint is the pillows were so hard. I believe they were cheap foam ones, but the beds were super comfy. I have to ask why they would do that. We had to sleep without them. We also had trouble with finding shows to watch, because of the streaming situation. We really didn’t get the relaxation we were looking for.

We didn't actually stay at the property because there was an extensive power outage that had the entire city/area down for a day. The Property Manager was very accommodating about changing our reservation. She also helped us figure out where we might find lunch or other services. The building was very cute, clean, and we would have loved to stay there. We will definitely be back.
