I booked a private room and was instead mistakenly placed in a hostel room. The error wasn't immediately apparent. When I arrived at the location late in the evening, the directions were unclear. After several mistaken attempts, we finally found the room that was unlocked by the key that was provided. The hostel room had three bedrooms with a common area. We entered the common room (which we initially thought was simply part of our booked room) and found a single door open to a bedroom. Later, another couple entered the hostel and had the key to the room we had mistakenly inhabited (the owner had not locked all of the individual hostel room doors prior to our arrival). Confusion ensued, the owner was called, and she proceeded to chastise me on the phone rather than realize that the mistake originated because she incorrectly placing us in the wrong room. There was no shuttle to the airport as indicated on hotels.com. The packaged pastries provided in the room were stale. The simple breakfast provided in the common room was much improved and palatable. The owner was highly communicative even though the experience was poor.
