Have been coming to Hotel Butterfly for many summers as a base to hike the mountains and enjoy Zermatt. Close to train station, excellent staff, delicious and varied breakfast, clean and well appointed rooms and lobby and food related areas, safe and quiet surroundings. I could go on and on. Stayed two nights during our visit to Zermatt recently. Excellent hotel, very close to the train station, no problems walking to the hotel with rolling suitcases. The location is excellent, easy walk to the Main Street with shopping and restaurants. Room was good size , didn’t feel cramped. Nice and clean bathroom, may be the bath cube area was little smaller but manageable. Breakfast was included and was excellent with many choices. Also front desk staff are nice. Overall very happy with our stay.

Close to the train station, 280 meters, and also the private train station to Gornergrat, above 10,000 ft , which I recommend for mountain grandeur (so did Mark Twain in 1879 :-). Breakfast is included and is good, 7 to 11 (best to eat before 9 though). Free coffee and tea each day from 4 to 5:30. Bed was comfy. Lovely lobby.
