Avoid at all costs

Rented this place for a two night stay in Bergen. We had booked a double bed room and got two twins, but this isn’t the big problem. On our first night we left for dinner after an evening check in. We locked the door, double checked it was locked, and left for three hours. When we returned, both the front door of the apartment building and the door to our room were open. When we got to the building there was a guy outside on the phone who had asked us not to lock the building. He left a few minutes later after we locked the front. We called the property management company at midnight. They were not local, a guy named Marco answered with chickens in the background. His advice was to “lock the door” and stay there that night. He called the local property manager and attempted to get ahold of the owner. He called back and said there were no other keys and that no one was sent for maintenance and accused us of not locking the door ourselves. We are paranoid travelers. We double check everything, every time, so this wasn’t really helpful. We stayed the night after rigging the door with a chair and some things to make noise of anyone entered. In the morning we booked a hotel for our second night and left. Last minute booking… $$$. We asked for a full refund but they were only willing to refund the night we didn’t use. In many years of traveling this was the worst situation we’ve been in on our travels. No single woman or anyone really should book this place. Avoid at all costs.

Nice apartment, shame about the soft bed

Good size apartment in a good location. It is on a fairly steep cobbled hill which was a bit difficult with a stroller and large suitcase. The bed was not very good very squishy and a mattress topper used to compensate but this was also way too soft. I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed. The pillows also extremely thin and small. The shower was very good, nice and powerful and warm. Kitchen was ok with a functional dishwasher but lacking some simple things like hand or tea towels.

Noisy, nice location

Very centrally located in the cozy part of old Bergen. We had apartment on the first floor and it was not a quite apartment to say the least. People coming and going was very loud. At night (party area of Bergen) people coming home woke us all up. Other than that, a nice place in a very nice location.
