We recently stayed at the Andaz in a one-bedroom suite and, unfortunately, our experience Review of Andaz – One-Bedroom Suite did not meet expectations. Prior to arrival, we specifically communicated our for the room setup, but none of these requests were acknowledged or fulfilled.
The staff interaction, especially during check-in, was somewhat awkward and lacked the genuine warmth and friendliness we’ve experienced at neighboring resorts. Given that we were traveling with a young baby, we expected a more attentive welcome. However, I must acknowledge one member of staff who thoughtfully gifted our son a camel toy several days into our stay. It was a kind gesture, though it highlighted further the missed opportunity by the original check-in team to create a positive first impression.
The room itself was well-equipped with kitchen utensils but lacked a basic item—a chopping board—which was quite inconvenient. It’s surprising that such a simple yet essential tool was overlooked in the room’s setup.
Our primary reason for choosing this hotel was to enjoy the facilities, particularly the pool area. Unfortunately, the main pool was out of service during our stay, and we discovered upon arrival that children are not permitted in the rooftop pool. The alternative offered was access to the pool facilities at the Fairmont hotel nearby. However, expecting guests with a young child to travel to an
