I grew up going to the Island, it used to be long beach. There are a couple of things i do not like, one is access to the beach, you have to pay for parking or you get a ticket, its almost like oak island doesn't want visitors.

"We loved our night at Captain Cove. It was so nostalgic of my family road trips as a kid. Yes, it's very 80's Roadside Motel inside the rooms, but they are clean and comfortable. The staff was so nice and my kids LOVED the pool. Quick walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants around. You can also grill in their adorable courtyard. Would definitely go back!"
"For an older property the rooms were well cleaned and nice, could be a bit more soundproof. Very friendly atmosphere from the office staff and the other guests. Very short walk to the beach, pool was great and area was clean. It was really nice to be able to continue using the parking lot, pool, pier and bathroom they provide after checkout.
