I booked a basic single but was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe Double. The room was spacious, spotless, and had a balcony overlooking the yoga deck and walking trail (currently closed). Even though it was right in the center of the property, it still felt private and relaxing. The location of the room was excellent — less than a minute to the yoga deck, pools, and restaurant. It was so convenient that I could leave my things by the pool and quickly return to my room to shower, grab something, or get ready for the next activity. The hotel itself is also in a great area: about a 15-minute walk to the beach, 1 minute to the bus stop, and just a few minutes to several great restaurants. Staff were one of the highlights. Everyone was kind and helpful, with Henry and Matthew at reception standing out for their friendliness and knowledge of tours and activities. They even arranged for security to turn on the lights at the yoga deck so I could have a small incense ceremony — a thoughtful touch that made my stay memorable. During the early wet season the property was quiet, though I imagine peak season could be livelier given the central location. Fortunately, the rooms are well insulated, so noise would likely be tolerable. The only thing I missed was having a fridge for medicine or leftovers. Overall, a wonderful stay — comfortable room, perfect location, and truly exceptional staff. Highly recommend Alma Vida for a memorable stay in Manuel Antonio.

Excelente opción, muy cerca de todo

¡Excelente hotel! Habitaciones amplias y limpias. La arquitectura del hotel es muy bonita. El servicio al cliente es excelente, desde el personal de recepción, los de limpieza. El restaurante ofrece opciones buenas y el servicio del personal del restaurante es excepcional. Una de las mejores opciones de hotel en Manuel Antonio. Seguro que repetiré este hotel en el futuro.

I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for so many reasons. We live it so much that 4 days later we returned to this hotel again! I also will not even consider another place when returning back to Costa Rica. Kenneth at the front desk BOTH times was so pleasant and made the experience just perfect. What an employee just added to the awesome memorable time we had ! I hope whosever reads this review truly considers this establishment as it was one of the best on all my travels around the world! This property is located on the side of a busy street but it is possible to walk to the beach (down the hill) in about 25 minutes. There is a bus route that will take you back up the hill for <$1. The room that we stayed in was clean but not luxurious. The bed was clean and comfortable, the pillows were supportive. The AC worked. The bathroom was spacious, modern and the shower was powerful and the water pressure adequate. The closet was somewhat simple with limited space for hanging/storage. There was enough room to store our suitcases. The hotel provided towels for pool use. Our room had a balcony with a hanging egg chair and a table with 2 chairs. It was a pleasant set up but not luxurious as mentioned. There was no TV in the room. The windows were a little grimy, but the block out curtains were effective. The dining room was spartan and I wasn't sure if the restaurant provided lunch or dinner as we never used it. We only ate breakfast there, which was simple but sufficient; a choice of American style (eggs, bacon, toast), Tico style (eggs, plantains, tortillas) or fruit and granola. There was plenty of self serve coffee or tea. We looked at the rooftop bar but it did not appear to be used. There were several other bars (one by the main pool and a coffee bar) that did not seem to be open when we were there. We stayed in early April so not sure if we were in shoulder season or the hotel is in the process of upgrading them. The hotel used to be called Hotel Casitas Eclipse.

Beautiful landscape, lots of wildlife (monkeys & iguanas), air conditioned big rooms and 3 pools. Felt like a resort it’s ok that there was no TV in the room because there’s usually only Spanish speaking shows (and we don’t know that much Spanish, however having a refrigerator in the room. I missed looking for that when I booked.
