We stayed at Modern Sultan Hotel for a week in July 2023 and loved it. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Turkish Breakfast in morning is amazing. Hotel is extremely close to most attractions in Sultanahmet (10 minutes walk) and public transportation is also close by. Only down is that the hotel does not have elevators but the staff was very helpful in getting our luggage to our room. Our room was on the top floor with a great view of the Hagia Sophia mosque. We would definitely come back to this hotel on our next trip to Istanbul.

The room was very good. The mattresses were comfortable, not too soft (not too firm, too). The pillows were comfortable as well. Our room had its own AC and we could control it. The AC worked perfectly and quietly. For breakfast, they had different kinds of pastry, fruits, vegetables, olives, eggs, hams, and cheeses. (I don’t mean this is the full list. There might be something else that I didn’t notice or don’t remember). There were instant coffee and tea bags, black and chamomile. The owner and staff were very friendly and reliable. The communication was easy. Before we arrived, they responded to my emails quickly and thoroughly. We appreciated it that they helped us organize transportation to the airport for a reasonable price. I would stay here again.

The Modern Sultan Hotel is in a great central spot for a great price. It is boutique, has a lot of character yet has the amenities you need. A large shower, good working AC, and very walkable. I see the Aya Sofia outside our window. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the free breakfast is exactly enough to start the day. 24 hour coffee and tea is also available at your service, and they have a nice front porch to sit and enjoy it! I would recommend if you are looking for something different than the typical hotel; a unique experience for sure.
