Nice hotel - but not 5*
We arrived at 9.30 no welcome drink - just asked to download the app which would give us all the info we needed and given directions to our block ( which was approx 200 yards ) no assistance was given or offered with our luggage . I enquired where we could get food and was told we had 15 mins before the restaurant closed !
The app was pretty good although does have some inconsistencies mainly locations are known differently on the app vs reality. Also there are no details of the main buffet restaurant.
The room was clean and reasonably well appointed but a little dated. Shower room was good.
In terms of food the main buffet restaurant was good quality (not 5*) desserts were extremely good! The toaster at breakfast was the worst ever encountered 10 laps through to get it even slightly golden - I raised this with a number of staff who would reply “sorry speaka no englese” they would then disappear and take no action.
The speciality restaurants were poor & badly managed , we had numerous experiences of food arriving over cooked and cold - but no action was taken or apology given !
The only exception was the French which was 5*
full entertainment program- morning were usually quiet, with music starting from noon ramping up at 3pm with team members shouting through microphones to be heard! Those wanting a quiet spot to take in the sun were out of luck.
The currency change service would only change US $ or Euros- not good
Overall a nice hotel with lovely gardens but not 5* !!
