It’s also a timeshare now :-(

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 15 years. I still love the location and the beauty of the hotel but It was recently bought by another company, and now it is also part timeshare. The hotel is beautiful, the food is still very good, but the service is much different. It’s not as friendly and personable as it once was. The other change is because of the timeshare option now, there are segregated portions of the hotel that you no longer have access to because it’s for the members only. It feels very cold and elitist. Still a beautiful hotel, just not the same experience as it has been for so many years. I will be looking for a new place to stay in San Jose Del Cabo.

10 lazy days in the sun

Our 10 day stay here was amazing......the staff were all fantastic especially the pool bar staff Randell Zaryl Sam and Avi. Food was plentiful and great choices....our favorite restaurant was the Italian. Rooms were always clean and house keeping staff friendly and helpful. Only problem we had was the night manager who was extremely rude and mean to us - 2 senior ladies - when we asked for some help......he needs some manners.

Iffy Place with Poor Management

the management has serious problems. 1) For 2 evenings there was no hot water. Warm but not warm enough for a comfortable shower. 2) housekeeping left us only 1 towel and two face clothes even after I tipped the cleaner! We had to wait for towels before we could shower. 3) Restaurant service is incredibly slow. 4) Food varies from good to poor, with the majoring being poor. 5) Bed is very firm memory foam, not good for side sleepers like me. I woke several times each night in pain. 5) Listen to the negative reviews. They speak the truth. If you go here, you take your chances.

Fun Girls Trip

We were there on a girls trip. The resort was always being cleaned and the staff was attentive and kind. The pools were refreshing, but the two closest to the beach could have used more cleaning. The food was good and we really enjoyed our stay.

They’ve really gone down since it was the Barcelo. Premium level only exists for timeshare holders now. Limited dining, mediocre food, no more room service, no one answers the phone. The light house bar was open but staff told us it was closed, same for one of the restaurants.

The resort is lovely, smaller resort but perfect distance to most things, food needs work it’s ok but not great, they do have grill service for rib eye steaks and chicken but have to ask for bacon. And sausages only served on some days, poor selection and variety but all in all omelettes are on point! The steak and chicken good, salmon in Italian nite great pasta meh bit in Italian so I know good pasta, the grill bar is ok too good hamburgers and the salsa and guacamole are nice too drinks good! No premium liquor but service was great and staff nice! The pool area is the bomb I really enjoyed that, rooms were great, rooms so clean and nice beds so comfy!! Great views of property and beach front! Entertainment quite good but cool up top where they have the show and windy they need blankets for people sitting there, nice fire show and beach fire on beach but could have used more entertainment fire show was short then people left, the entertainment pool side was ok the guy was great that was the host for the pool area, very engaging and funny! All in all good vacay, I was a bit annoyed all other people at resort got to and from shuttle free but it wasn’t included in Expedias package very disappointed in that cost me an extra $100 they charged me $30 us to come on shuttle and I Uber’s back

This was my first all inclusive stay. The staff was friendly, helpful, and works hard. My room was upgraded to an ocean view which was a nice perk. I found plenty of healthy food options: vegetables, fruit, salad oprions, etc.

Todo muy bien, atención perfecta y siempre muy serviciales. Tuve un par de incidentes, la primera le dieron mantenimiento a las calderas, por lo que me quedé sin agua durante varias horas, posterior a esto, el agua salia muy sucia (porque los tinacos se vaciaron). Y luego se les olvidó realizar la limpieza de la habitación, hasta que regresé a las 9pm y lo reporte, muy amablemente fueron a asearla. Por todo lo demás muy bien

You can tell that it's still working our some kinks from ownership transfer, there is so much potential, serving staff were wonderful. Entertainment needs work, communication with the connoisseur needs work, we needed to know more about the dining events, missed a fun Mexican evening because we had reservations for Italian night, would have preferred the other due to the entertainment. Place itself is beautiful and if you just want to sit by the pool or walk the beach this place is for you. Not a lot for kiddos to do. Use Uber to get you places very inexpensive and reliable.

This hotel is for Relax!!! If your looking for that this is the place. It wasn’t too many people for the first couple of days it was perfect. They have three restaurants and breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet with lots of options. Really good food. The best part , SERVICE! Every one was very attentive excellent customer service! If you want a place for relax and have a good time. This is it.

There was no details to restaurant times or a guided tour of the premises. We always felt lost and having to ask a lot of questions. The worst part is them trying to schedule an appointment for a “vacation club” time share that would have cost &30 just to listen to them. They were pushing that hard on us. I will never go back to this resort.
