"We were in Athens for a few days for a weightlifting competition. We were very happy with out stay at the Divani from the location (close to the Acropolis and the large shopping and dining area to within a 10 minute walk to the Hill—another great area for dining and drinking. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is clean, well maintained, with just the right amount of amenities for the cost per night. We were especially pleased with the service. The staff was incredibly helpful and responsive and every day they delivered boxes of water and cookies! What a treat. And the breakfast buffet was outstanding. It was well laid out, everything was delicious, it was available until 10:30a and the staff, again, were the kindest and most helpful. Lastly, I would be incredibly remiss if I did not mention the rooftop restaurant—the Acropolis Secret Restaurant. It was absolutely outstanding. The food, the view of the Acropolis lit up at night, and the waitstaff were top notch. If you are reading this review, and think you want to dine there, make a reservation pronto. It is well known and loved and it fills up fast. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to Athens."

Like other guests said, the area isn’t so great, but the pool on the rooftop kept me there long enough that I didn’t even want to leave. "Initially, I was going to give this place 3/5 stars because when we first checked-in we were giving 2 single beds combined to make a "queen" along with a not so comfortable sofa bed that isn't really a sofa. Additionally, a lot of items had to be requested multiple times because they were not initially provided/bottles were almost empty: body wash and shampoo. However, after I complained to the front desk about my room and how I had to call front desk multiple times to get the items I needed. One of the night front desk staff listened to my concerns and immediately provided me with reassurance that they will get us a new room with said beds and items. He appreciated that we vocied out our concerns. He directed us to the manager, to make sure things were understood well after his shift. Eventually, we got an upgraded room to a King, the items I requested, an actual extra bed, 50% off at their restaurant, and great customer service. My family wished they were the ones that greeted us on the day we checked-in and not the receptionist that appeared judgemental. I am glad that although the hotel was fully booked, they were able to redeem themselves and provide us with the service we paid for"
