Our 3-night stay at El Moore was wonderful. The Lodge is located in a historic neighborhood in Detroit, just a short walk from some nice restaurants and shops, and also walking distance from the beautiful main library and several museums. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable, and each morning we had a continental breakfast in the charming dining area downstairs. The staff members were warm and welcoming. (A special shout-out to Ms. K, who graciously and patiently took the time to untangle my necklace so I could wear it to an evening event. ) We can’t wait to come back.

It was such a beautiful place. When we arrived our garbage wasn’t taken out which we found odd but my boyfriend and I left and they came and emptied it without us asking so we are just assuming they forgot. I love the breakfast area, I do just wish they had a cereal option as i’m not always interested in oatmeal. All minor things that would never shy us away from booking here again. We loved the area and it felt super secure and safe with the gate code and lock system. Every place we went to was only about 6 minutes away so it’s a perfect spot of Detroit. Not too close to the city but not too far. The building was also gorgeous and it felt nice to be in like an apartment away from home. It felt super homey which we loved. Overall 10/10, would recommend The El Moore, especially for their reasonable price. 😊

I blame hotels.com more than the El Moore for the mishap. You guys mis-advertised the room that they were offering at that price. It’s in the basement, small, has no ventilation and barely any natural lighting, and has a detached bathroom you have to put in a code to get into. From what I understand after talking to the property manager is that is their cheapest, least booked room and they have much better options at a higher rate. I feel like you guys are duping the customer and setting up the El Moore for failure time and again by doing this. Show the actual room where people will be staying

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was large and comfortable. The property blends modern furnishings while maintaining its old charm well. It was kind of expensive, but I guess the market sets the rate.

I absolutely recommend you stay at the El Moore Lodge when traveling to Detroit. The building has all the modern amenities, but still has the historic charm/feel you want. The staff is very friendly, tons of places close by you can walk to for food and drinks, and superb coffee every morning for you to enjoy.

First of all the building renovations are phenomenal. Second the staff is uber friendly and kind. Third the rooms are great (I booked last minute and had a small first floor one but it was still great). Clean place, sweet breakfast, market next door is awesome. What a find! Having stayed at 99% of downtown's best hotels, El Moore is my next go-to for future trips.

Wow! What an amazing place to stay for an overnight in Detroit. The building and grounds are so beautiful. Love the historical and unique components of the El Moore. I could live here! And, the value is unmatched. Secure on site parking and breakfast included in a reasonable price!
Our unit (the Cass) was so cozy and comfortable. Very clean. The staff was professional, welcoming and so friendly. The lady who was here when we arrived (Harriett?) was so sweet and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We travel monthly and this was one of the coolest locations and such a historic building to stay in. Absolutely beautiful. The room didn’t have a TV or any entertainment options, but the location was wonderful. We were able to walk to great restaurants, bars and shops, as well as to the Detroit Pistons game. Would definitely stay here again!
