The Riad was neat, located in a quiet alley, which can be tricky to find when you first arrive as there's no signage pointing to the riad anywhere. The alley comes out at a busy street with some small supermarkets and eating spots. The medina and souks are within walking distance (~5 mins), as well as the Djemaa-El Fna square (~15-20mins). Khalid, the receptionist, was very kind and welcoming and he was always ready to help with any questions or problems we had. Our room (standard room) was quite small (smaller than the rooms shown on the pictures) but clean and the bed and cushions were good. The only thing that bothered us just a little was the fact that we could hear people talking outside of our room when they were in the little courtyard of the riad (our room was at the ground floor) and how small the bathroom of the standard room was. I could not sit on the toilet straight as I would sit with my knees against the wall. The AC in our room worked really well and it was cool in the rest of the riad as well. Breakfast was good and sufficient; we were given the choice to either sit downstairs in the comfortable sofa area or upstairs on the roof terrace. We chose the latter: this was also very comfortable and in the shade. Overall, we had a very good stay at Riad Ikalimo 1 and would recommend it to others as well.
