Check in was terrible. I questioned why I was required to provide a second card (manually) along with my payment card, apparently they wouldn’t allow me to check in without it. And the checkin became all about this, no mention of facilities, where the bar was, if I planned to eat that evening etc. As with the requirement for 2 cards, nothing about this checkin was not like any other hotel I’ve even been to. However the member of staff argued otherwise, apparently it’s perfectly normal to provide separate card details manually as well as the used to pay for the room. The check out, the member of staff obviously recognised me, had very little to say to me, I had to prompt them to see if they needed anything else after putting my key on the counter. No question of how my stay was or any of the usual things that a reception would do at other hotels.
