The Royal Albion is a lovely hotel, offers a traditional atmosphere and stylish decor. Great location, overlooking Viking Bay with easy access to the beach and charming town. The sea-facing rooms offer stunning views across the bay. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The breakfast is a highlight. It's delicious, best one I have had in an UK B&B, offering a variety of delicious options, including cooked-to-order choices, it goes well beyond the standard full English breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay andwould love to go back.

We had a wonderful stay. The room is beautiful with an amazing view and balcony, the location is incredible, but the best thing was the staff. From when we first arrived throughout the whole stay the staff were just amazing. What a team. Thank you.

The best hotel, opposite the best beach!

We stayed for 2 nights in the triple room and had the best time. Firstly the location is FAB! You couldn't get any closer to the beach. The room was comfy with a great sized bathroom. Lovely tea/coffee facilities in the room. The hotel staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We were celebrating my mums birthday and they decorated the room with a banner and we had a drinks voucher for the bar which was a lovely touch. The breakfast each day was perfect. So much choice with cold and hot foot available. My son has a diary allergy and they were very clear with what he could/couldn't have. The only slight downside is that there is no parking included and that there is no lift to the top floor. But we knew these before booking so it wasn't an issue for us.

Super hotel right on the seafront. Excellent service in the bar and at breakfast Our room was lovely and extremely clean and comfortable. Altogether a very nice break.

Loved the history, Charles Dickens stayed there, and the quirkiness of the guest rooms. The location overlooking the beach was very enjoyable for food and drinks and enjoying the excellent view. Central and walking distance for most of the attractions of the town.

The room was nice and cosy even if there were few details that could have been looked after. It was just a bit cold due to the old windows but we closed the blinds and it was ok. Breakfast was good. The staff was very kind and helpful.

We celebrated our 42nd Anniversary with an amazing seaview room with a balcony and complementary drinks. The view was fantastic.The Haddock and Chips and Taglioni Pasta at the restaurant were delicious and the chef was able to accommodate our unspicy chicken wings which was perfect! Kudos to the staff and management for the care and making our stay so memorable. We would come back.

The location was very good. Food choices were very good. A lot of stairs and no lift. The council car park was expensive, but were advised to get a 24 hour ticket, which was cheaper than the hourly rate.

The television did not work. Twice I asked for it to be replaced or mended, but nothing was done. The room I had was at the front of the hotel. There was no double glazing, and noise from the street was considerable at night. The last of the revellers left at 2.30 am, and by 4 the gulls had started calling followed by bin collections, deliveries, and so on. The staff were unfailingly pleasant. The breakfast was good (though orange juice only appeared on Saturday).

A little dissapointed with the overal state of the decor very tired looking, carpets old and worn paint flaking off in places. Our shower was not working. Though after talking to reception it was fixed. Cleaning of the room and bed making was not good. Breakfast was v,good though service a little infomal! Being addressed as 'mate' and 'hi guys' we found a little 'incorrect'.Also thought street clothing not uniforms spoilt the image of the hotel I wish the above to be considered as helpful critisism! A definate possitive was 'George' a very helpful and polite assistant manager?
