Check in was fine so was the room though it is old - long time since had a 14inch tv screen - but clean and comfortable. It was the breakfast that let it down. The buffet was laughable, the older lady who served us was very grumpy and the english was the absolute minimum to call it an english breakfast - though did have magnificent poached egg!

We stayed in a lovely little lodge adjacent to the hotel. It backed on to the railway line. But even that was not an issue. It was quiet and comfortably furnished with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was served in the main dining room and it was lovely.

Hotel lovely spa could be better

Stayed here a few times. Usually a quick and friendly check in, was a bit slow this time. Would have been good to know adding spa access was only from check until midday on check-out day before booking. Also, that Mondays a ‘bring your baby to pool day’. The first day we spent a couple of hours in the spa and it was so busy we could only use the pool. The second day was baby day and the hot-tub jacuzzi was broken. So, didn’t feel like the extra for the spa was worth it this time round.

What a lovely experience

What a lovely calm hotel. Loved that it was just a short stroll from the necessaries, beautifully quiet location. Everything was easy and staff super friendly. Spa was spotless. Breakfast delicious, plenty of lovely choices, some fresh uncut bread would have have elevated it. One hundred per cent would stay again.

I’ve used the Waterloo Hotel a few times over the years. I’ve never had a bad experience or found anything to complain about. It’s warm, comfortable and the staff are friendly. It’s also perfectly located to explore Eryri/Snowdonia.

Great stay, staff are fantastic

Staff are lovely and so friendly. Breakfast was great. Only thing for me in terms of improvements is the rooms could do with an update, bathroom was lovely and looked recently refurbished but the bedroom was a little dated, maybe an upgraded bed and TV (and I appreciate we're in the most beautiful place in Wales so who needs a TV but after a long day of hiking I know I love to kick back and chill out, especially when it's February and too cold to sit out) and nowadays most hotel rooms have smart TVs) otherwise a lovely experience and the staff do like to make sure you have a lovely experience
