Had to check in across the street at a sister hotel which was no problem. Our hotel required key card to scan into the building which was appreciated. Hotel smelled musty and the room was outdated. Great location next to the train station (5minute walk) and proximity to everything. Breakfast is an extra cost and we did not try it.

Pluses: Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Good proximity to the train station. Minuses: The darkest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in, even with every light on. 20 euros per person for breakfast???

Not at understanding as a hotel 😔
I am unable to comment on the hotel as I wasn’t able to stay weekend 20th to 24th Oct. Basically I was due to run the Venice Marathon. But due to flights being cancelled I was unable to go this weekend. As you can imagine I was gutted…. Nice mini break and to run this marathon. Whilst not the mine or the hotels fault, there has been no understanding on their part. Just keep referring me to the policy. I have now lost €600.00.

Generally clean. Difficult bathtub shower combo. Bad WiFi. Breakfast way too expensive. Desk clerk unnecessarily sarcastic. No hot water the final day and night.

A very mixed bag - misleading photos
Ai Due Fanali was a mixed experience. Good location near the railway station and bus stop, and near the Grand Canal. The much more upscale "sister" property, Ca' Nigra, has a very beautiful garden where we could have breakfast (VERY pricey at 20 euro) or drinks. But the bed wasn't very comfortable, there was no mini-bar, and the only curtains that covered the window were sheer (the heavier curtains at the side were narrow and just for show). The hairdryer was an ancient wall-mounted model that worked very poorly - low air flow, and it kept shutting off - and when I asked for a "real" hairdryer I was given a North American model that wouldn't work (even with a plug adapter) because it didn't have dual voltage - something that the man at the front desk didn't seem to understand. The room phone was out of service (so I couldn't contact the front desk easily about the hairdryer) and the shower door wasn't properly hung and wouldn't close (although this was fixed after I reported it). Many of the photos on the website are very misleading and show common spaces that I never laid eyes on in my 5-night stay - e.g. the tiny table outside the hotel (which is unstaffed - only Ca' Nigra has any staff) is NOT a place where you can get any food or drink, so labeling it "Outdoor Dining" is very misleading; and the breakfast room is windowless - although weather permitting you can eat in the garden.

Room was very small and bathroom even smaller. The hotel is old and showing wear. Great location but will look for other accommodations next time.

Maybe it was just our room, but it smelled bad. Room was small and old and tv didn’t work ( they replaced it). Disappointed. Staff were great ,breakfast was good.

Though the property is small, and the rooms are quite tight for space, it was clean and comfortable. The walls are very thin, and you can hear almost everything in neighboring rooms. Also, every noise in the plaza below rises up to the windows, but luckily the plaza isn't a very busy one. It's close to bridges and water ferry stops. For the price, it is very economical and a good value.

Clean comfortable. Very basic room. Bed. Refrigerator. Water for purchase in frig. No kettle for hot water. Elevator. Good A/C. Sister hotel where checkin is can bd found across the square. The people working there are very nice. That hotel has a nice garden area overlooking the canal. Great for drinks - a bit more pricey but enjoyable. Breakfast is 20 euros per person which seemed high as you csn get a really nice dinner for that price. Overall for the area the hotel was a good value.

Would not stay next time
This is a very small room in a very small hotel. Very basic, the consierge is in the different hotel across the same street. The room has old carpet and needs renovations. There is no top light and the only power outlet is in the bathroom. The bathroom is old, the toilet seat was falling to the side. We survived one night and left in the morning. Location is very convenient, close to everything.

One of the worst experiences. The room was super tiny and smelly. The bathroom was small and didn’t have enough room to properly sit. Hair dryer was broken! Wi-Fi was terrible. I wasn’t able to even load addresses in google map. Highly recommend to avoid booking this property. Photos and reviews didn’t reflect the actual condition. On the plus side, staff were friendly and welcoming
