Not accessible. Dirty.
My three kids and I stayed for one night in order to attend a birthday party the next day. We had to make a last minute decision due to the weather.
I specifically needed an accessible room and did my research before booking.
I have stayed in La Quinta before so I wasn’t expecting it to be a bad experience.
Let’s just say from start to finish it was not pleasant. The receptionist was welcoming and booked us into an accessible room on the second floor. however, the elevator was broken. We got my 13year old daughter out of the car with her walker and all the bags and were unable to get to our room.
The elevator had a big issue and got us stuck 4-5 times. The day we left we had to carry her and her walker down two flights of stairs.
The room was not accessible. She could not turn or get into the bed on her own… we could not get anywhere if she was next to her bed. To get her into the bathroom, she had to block the entryway, back up, open the door, then go in. The tub was not accessible. It just had a seat, and if the seat was down, you could not close the curtain so water went everywhere, causing more hazard when she got out. She almost slipped and I caught her.
I hurt myself getting her in and out of the tub, then again getting her up and down the emergency stairs.
There was stains on the bed, stains on the roof and the floor, and it smelled rancid.
We will never be staying at La Quinta again.
