Would recommend the Hyatt Vacation Club
Enjoyed my stay at this beautiful resort. With a fully equipped kitchen my family and felt like we were at a second home. I would highly recommend. They do offer an optional sale pitch for the property but it was easily turned down.

Nice rooms at a strange resort
This is a great spot for a family vacation and there was a lot we enjoyed about the hotel. That said, we missed out on a ton of amenities which was a total bummer. Firstly, they can’t honor the share of the Hyatt Regency as promoted. This is at the mercy of the other hotel so we got our kids excited about surfing and other amenities, packed up the car, drove to the sister resort across the street and weren’t even allowed to enter the property for breakfast! It was really strange. When we asked the front desk, they just said “oh yeah, they revoked our privileges for March” LOL…. Thanks for the heads up! Secondly, we were there for a couple nights and a burn ban prevented smores. This is, of course, not the hotels fault at all but I’m surprised they didn’t have any other activities planned as a back up. Especially bc their activity calendar is really light so this is a big highlight. Lastly, the one activity our kids could attend was a “diving for diamonds” thing at the pool. This is just a minor activity, but they were all hyped up and the hotel just arbitrarily decided to push the time by 2hrs with no announcement (and 2hrs later, we had to hunt them down to ensure they actually did it). This didn’t impact us much, but at least 3 other families had rushed there for this activity and commented at their annoyance. I think we’d try this resort again, but may just book at the sister property directly as this seems to be the C- version of a Hyatt.

Just OK
The resort overall is pretty ok. The rooms need to be updated, felt a bit too homey for us. Also felt a little like spirit airlines when we are charged for every little thing. “hey, come make $5 slime with us!” “Ok” “+$1 if you want to add this, +$2 if you want to add that”. I’d rather them just say come make $10 slime with us and not up charge me for breathing. Biggest complaint was both my kids were hurt on this trip and no one seemed to care. Literally no one followed up. My daughter got a piece of metal in her foot the first night from the hot tub, the final night my son knocked out half of his front adult tooth on the water slide. No one has followed up to date. Location is VERY close to SeaWorld, huge plus. And has tons of great food around it. Food at the hotel is just ok, drinks are good.

Disappointing stay
From the moment I checked in, my experience was far from what I expected for a vacation. After checking in, I was immediately told I needed to visit someone for a parking pass. This led to a lengthy sales pitch for a timeshare, which I had no interest in. Despite mentioning that we were in town for a funeral, the sales representative, while polite, continued to push the timeshare offer. The only positive interaction I had was with Waldo, who checked me in. He was personable, friendly, and informative. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay was less than enjoyable. Throughout our time there, we received multiple text messages, followed by phone calls—despite informing them the night before that we were not interested in the timeshare tour. The calls continued the next day before 8:30 AM, interrupting our relaxation time. I understand the need to inform guests, but I did not request a wake-up call, and this constant communication felt intrusive. Additionally, the service at the pool bar was disappointing. Jessica, the bartender, was curt and dismissive, making facial expressions when asked a simple question. At the lazy river, I had an encounter with another staff member who simply stared at me before walking away when I asked a question. When I attempted to speak to her again, she ignored me and continued walking. My daughter was particularly taken aback by this behavior. A vacation is supposed to be a time for relaxation and quality moments with family, but my stay was far from.

A great place to relax and enjoy

Very clean and beautiful grounds
The grounds on this hotel are gorgeous. Also very clean. Only thing is that some things need to be replaced like the microwave door because it fell off. Also. the restroom drawer was lopsided after opening it once. All this just made me chuckle.

Incredible stay!
Beautiful amenities. There are many trees and green areas. The pools (indoor and outdoor) and the lazy river are great! They even have hot water in the pools. The room is big, clean and has everything that you need. The price is not cheap, but I will come back here again.
