Heads up to traveling pet owners. Disappointed to arrive at hotel and learn the “at hotel” pet fee was significantly higher than the pet fee on Hotels.com site. Now sharing with other pet owners the trend to charge any amount, and when travelers arrive at midnight we are surprised with a new, non-negotiable and higher fee. The hotel check-in agent states, “it’s on our website. I can give you a refund.” There is also a typed paper memo taped to the entry door. No care for the midnight arrival. No care for the discrepancy. Feels like a shake down. So, what do you do? Pay the fee or drive on? After we experienced the stare down we left. No more Holiday Inn Express for us.
