Boutique hotels and apartments within palace walls offer unique stays in converted Roman structures. This compact, pedestrian-only zone invites exploration, while the adjacent Riva waterfront promenade connects you to island ferries and city buses.
Bacvice's iconic sandy beach is where Split locals and travellers unite for sun-soaked fun. You can join a game of picigin (a beloved Croatian beach ball game) in the shallow turquoise waters or lounge on the shore with views of Diocletian's Palace. The palm-lined promenade buzzes with energy, connecting beachfront cafes to nearby attractions like the Port of Split. Waterfront tavernas serve fresh Dalmatian seafood while beach bars transform into lively nightspots after dark. Most accommodation offer sea views from modern apartments or boutique hotels just steps from the shore. "We loved this elegant hotel. The staff was lovely, the breakfast was excellent and our room was beyond gorgeous. The staff did not recommend the beach across the street but we had a great afternoon there. "
"Simply put, this hotel is the best in split. It’s in the middle of old town, everything is walkable. The hotel is kept in immaculate shape. Everything in it is upgraded. The rooftop is amazing it gives you spectacular views of the city. The staff is unmatched. I never write reviews but this hotel definitely deserves one. "
"My husband & I visited Split with our two children ages 6 & 9. We stayed for 2 nights and Hotel Kastel had everything we needed. It had a beautiful view from outside the bedroom windows, close distance to everything you could need in Split! If you have a car, the parking offered off-site is quite a ways away from the hotel, but that was told to use in advance. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hotel Kastel!! "
"The staff is welcoming and friendly. I walked in, was tired, and they made me feel completely at ease even though I was out of sorts. They were fantastic."
"We stayed here for a couple of nights. Check in was easy and efficient. The room wasn’t ready, but we were early and were able to store our luggage and make use of the pool area on the roof. The area is compact, and gets busy. We were lucky to grab a couple of sun beds as someone left almost as soon as we arrived. The room was large and well appointed. It was described as looking over a courtyard. In reality, it’s a car park that belongs to the hospital which this hotel backs directly on to. Patients can see the hotels rooms, and likewise we theirs. Don’t be put off though, the privacy drapes and the curtains are enough. Breakfast was in good, as you’d expect for a hotel of this type. Didn’t use the bar or evening restaurant, but I expect they had a good offer. The hotel itself is a little on the edge of Split town, and a 15 - 20 walk in which is uphill in parts. We’d stay again. "
