The room felt sparse, but it was clean. It looked and smelled newly painted. (There were a couple of paint splatters on the door and the curtains.) The bed had no bedspread or "blanket" but was made neatly and professionally with two cover sheets, which was fine, since it's very warm this time of year. The bed itself was surprisingly comfortable. There was a working air conditioner. The tub/shower in the bathroom was dated and basic, but it functioned fine. The room had some unique retro-modern elements, like a little table with a booth seat on one side,a yellow, maybe Ikea?towel holder, and 3 large mirrors!
It may have been in the midst of a slow redecoration process. There was a working TV with a remote that hung kinda high for its size, with a lot of wires hanging underneath. There was a small microwave and fridge, which I didn't use, but I know the fridge was working.
The guy at the check-in counter was neither pleasant or unpleasant. He was just there. To be fair, he was probably tired, because he was still there when I checked out.
