We had a wonderful stay at the San Remo Hotel! The historic charm and unique character made our visit feel like a true San Francisco experience. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the location was perfect - within easy walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, and so many great restaurants.

The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. Room very small with little space to open up luggage. Would have been helpful to know PRIOR to teaching that there is no elevator service and luggage needs to be brought up one flight of stairs

Good for the price, and great location, but could hear anything happening outside of the room clear as day. In room 5 there was also a window that looked into the hall, where light came through all night, despite the blinds being closed. The room literally just has a bed, sink, shower & toilet in it. No shelves/dresser/bedside table, not even a hook on the wall. Good for a one night stay, but we wouldn't want to spend a long stay there. Not complaining - just setting realistic expectations for if you go!

Room was tiny but spotless. Minimalist room with new bathroom. No horizontal surfaces in room to set things on other than the tiny sink so everything had to be put on the floor. No hooks on the walls either which would have helped. No windows to the outside, instead, there was a window to the hallway (had a shade) which was weird and hard to get the room dark at night because the hallway lights were always on. Bed was great. Staff was nice.

We had a wonderful stay! Staff was more than accommodating. The rooms were clean however we did not have a refrigerator in our room or a coffee maker, but it was very friendly and inviting and the courtyard was great and the continental breakfast was wonderful! If I find myself back in San Francisco I will definitely stay again

Clean room and helpful staff. Good location in North Beach walking distance to Traders Joe and to muni buses. Yet the most important things failed for me: the mattress is sinking down and my back can feel all the coils so I have to put a pillow under my upper back and another pillow under my lower back to be able to not feel the mattress coils. Also, the room is extremely noisy, noise from hotel restaurant, from rooms close by and rooms upstairs. Luckily I got earplugs from the hotel staff. I understand hotel staff cannot do much for noise without lots of renovation but the mattress replacement is an easy replacement for customers to return. I do not recommend this hotel due to the noise and mattress quality.

Precious little hotel that is maybe better described as a hostel. No elevators and shared bathroom which became a a little issue in the morning. Loads of antiques including a pull chain toilet!
