Our first room was nicer in appearance but was looking out on a tar papered roof with a large air conditioner unit right outside the widow. We asked if we could have a room with a better view. We got one on the front of the hotel behind the fire escape. The room was a little tired and in need of updating. The bathroom was very small and old looking. The location is very good and the woman who checked us in, at a nearby hotel, was quite nice. But I would not stay here again. For $300 + I think we could have done better.
We decided to eat at The Tom Quick restaurant. It was one of the slowest restaurants at which we have ever eaten. The food was ok, not great, and it took close to two hours to get our entrees. Again, the wait staff and manager were very friendly but there wasn’t much they could do to remedy the situation. Again, we will not be going back.
The breakfast, which was served at the nearby hotel, was good. Not wonderful but pretty good and in a very pretty setting. The coffee could have been stronger and my husband said the bacon was good.
