Great location and the staff were wonderful. The room did have a moldy smell the entire time I was there (5 nights) so that was a bit unpleasant and the reason I cannot give it 5 stars. If they could work on updating the rooms a bit I think that would help make it more enjoyable.

Staff was friendly. Our room wasn't fully cleaned every day, but that was no problem except we had to ask for toilet paper a couple of times. Otherwise, everything was great!

Need Hot Water
This was the second visit to King Christian Hotel. The week before Christmas 2024 I stayed in room 309 for six nights. There was no hot water. It wasn't cold, just cool. I didn't say anything because my showers are short, and I thought it might just be the old hotel. Plus, it was Christmas!!!!! How could I complain? My second stay for three nights (supposed to be four) was February 5th through the 7th, 2025. I stayed in room 305. The water temp was the same. On the morning of the 6th, I go downstairs and people are at the desk talking about "no hot water". But apparently this was throughout the entire hotel and was not connected to my "cool" water situation. That was fixed immediately. I decided to check out of the hotel early, because I wanted a long hot shower. Upon checkout, I reported to the ladies at the front desk what had happened on both visits, and I needed to check out a day early. I had already paid in full. They proceeded to tell me the hot water had been fixed two days ago "so I don't know what your issue is". They said nothing else and offered nothing else. Being in the mood, I was, I just had to smile this day and tell myself I would not be back. This is unfortunate. The rooms are extremely nice. The location is great. The bed in room 305 does sink in and needs to be replaced.

Great location. But no service no one at the front desk knew when the ferry starts new direction they were not helpful. Worst of all my air conditioning was broken and it was four days before I could get them to move me to a new room An excusable they had the rooms and said they would be an upgrade and to pay more

Convenient Location
Great hotel with updated and clean amenities. Close walking to everything. Coffee shop downstairs and breakfast/lunch restaurant was great. New dinner restaurant was also great. Pool was nice and private in the court yard. Loved the Peacock Room and relaxing in their before heading upstairs/elevator to our room!

Recommend!
We had a quick one night stay before our rental was ready. You cannot beat the location, our room was beautiful and updated. Access to room required carrying suitcases up a not-so-short flight of stairs, not a problem for us yet be aware. Free parking on street and $25 parking fee to use the hotels lot which is accessed by an one car alley easy to miss as you drive by but it's there. A rooster 'owns' the alley and made sure we were aware of him that morning ;-) Staff was very friendly and welcoming and we were greeted with a welcome cocktail! Room had mini fridge and a small microwave. No coffee pot in room yet great coffee shop/bakery just down stairs had all thst we could want.

Historical. Good area. NO PARKING. $25 fee from hotel is too much for their rooms. The hotel is overpriced but good and clean. Small rooms. I don’t think they should be charging as much as they do.
