Lovely, Clean, New Hotel with a rich history

The hotel has recently been refurbished but still has the ‘old’ side which you can select the room for stay if you are interested in this historic experience. Those rooms will be available for cheaper prices as well. I chose to stay at the ‘newer’ side for my accommodation this time as they are usually more comfortable for a good night sleep. I was correct and the room looks amazing and spacious too! What a wonderful refurbishment with great designs. Staff were also very helpful and friendly with the hospitality service. Their breakfast or dining area seems lovely although I took it outside instead as there’s so much to do and eat outside the hotel as well. I would loved to stay here once again if I come round for a visit once again.

Great service, bed uncomfortable

The position is great and the decoration good. The reception staff were always helpful. However, the bed was a small double and very hard and uncomfortable. Also, there was a noisy fan sound from somewhere that woke me up. I realise that beds are very subjective and the noise may only be localised but it affected me. This does not take away from the location or service. Also, the rooms were very well finished and the styling thought about.

An OK stay

Conveniently located, very close to the city centre. The hotel offers ample parking spaces. Check-in was easy and quick. But, the hotel needs upgrading, the carpets are dated and so are the furniture. The lift didn't work during our entire stay, which was really inconvenient!

Wedding Anniversary break

Lovely hotel close to everything from shopping, dinning and sightseeing. Would definitely stay again but once the lift is working, as we where on the 4th floor, but room was beautifully renovated.

Nice place

Reception (Chloe) very helpful and was really efficient / kind and helped me out. The rooms were interconnected and very good standard. The curtains didn’t close fully which was odd and the blinds didn’t close fully either. I found the bed quite firm and the linen was a bit rough. Some new pillows would be good as they were a little old. The tv was great and lots of options. The storage was great it would have been nice to have some water or at least a fridge in the room. The lift was out of order and we had to carry our things up 3 flights of stairs which wasn’t easy. The breakfast was ok. Plenty of choice and suited us fine. The breakfast room was like an oven and very stuffy. The evening food was nice in the bar - And the guy on the bar was very helpful and Accommodating to us as we had to dash. The location of the hotel is good as it has Onsite parking

Poor bar service

The rooms are good and clean. The bar and kitchen service is very poor. With next to nobody in the bar you are waiting for upto 5 mins to get served and I’ve had to go to reception a couple of time to be served. The food takes a long to come out, only 2 other couples on Wednesday night waiting before us for good and it took 40mins to arrived. Very limited menu as well.
