Newer hotel in central Kyoto near the Hankyu and subway stations. JR station is about 20 to 30 minutes away by subway or bus but the Hankyu railway gives you direct access to Osaka Umeda. Nice room good for short stay, room has a shower booth without a tub. and lacks a good chair.

Grocery store nearby and great food options are nearby. Beds and overall room is great. They have paid breakfast but also a free breakfast with sugar, waffles and some bread and a toaster oven. The overall hotel doesn't really look like a hotel from the outside, as inside they have a bar facing the outside and then the check-in is a little deeper in so that was a little hard to find

The breakfast set that came with our booking was the highlight of our stay at this hotel. It was delicious and very filling. We also got really lucky that we were give a room on the top floor with a really nice view of Kyoto. If it wasn't for that, I would only give this rating 3 stars. However, my big complaint is that this does not feel like you're staying at a 4 star hotel. We stayed at a 4 star hotel in Tokyo and the room there was much bigger. The room at this hotel felt cramped with our luggage. The bathroom at this hotel also does not have a tub. All the other hotels we've stayed at during our Japan vacation had a bath tub except for this one. In my opinion, this place is more of a 3 star hotel.

The best hotel from our Japan trip! Made us really fall in love with Kyoto. For a modern hotel it really emanates a traditional spirit. We had an entry way, with seperate rooms for toilet, shower and bedroom with a sliding door. The furnishings were great, and it was incredible comfortable. We almost didn’t want to leave!

Not the cleanest and service is subpar

They put me in a smoking room even though I booked a non-smoking one. The toilet wasn’t cleaned properly in that room. They gave me another room which was actually non-smoking, which was good but that room wasn’t cleaned properly either. The person who stayed there before me left a pair of socks in the room which was just lying on the floor. The foldable table was really dirty. Could have been a nice place but eh.
