There was cockroaches in my room! You advertised breacfast but it was only bagels and oranges and supposedly boiled eggs but they said they were out??? Don’t advertise breackfast if you can’t provide it!

When we checked in we were assigned room 168. However, when we opened the door to the room, there was a shirt in the bath, half drank Gatorade bottle on the nightstand, the hair dryer was used and plugged in, and the AC on full blast. It was obvious that someone else was already in the room. A bit shaken up, we went back to the front desk who assigned us to a different room

The front desk clerk Sara was totally awesome. The room as well as the location was perfect. It was on the corner. Clean didn’t see any cockroaches like the rest of the people say the only problem that I had was inside the shower that little step that they try to attach was only attached by caulking and no screws bolted into the wall.

The hotel used to be a La Quinta, they have done some upgrades which aesthetically are nice, but the lobby area is full of furniture that is completely uncomfortable to sit in. They also reduce the morning breakfast to cold only, meaning no warm meal like eggs or sausage the property is older, but has been renovated Looks nice and is clean and the staff is really nice.

I have stayed at the hotel at least dozens of nights before flying out early from SJC. I was there when they remodeled the old rooms, and there is little improvement since they became Spark. The breakfast is the same, heavy on carbs with little protein. I went to the Burger King for a not great breakfast. Because of my Platinum status with Wyndahm I had my choice of rooms and knew which to avoid, I got both I would have avoided from Spark. 175 is as far from the desk as possible, too small with no desk or table to use my laptops. It has a view of the back stairs and the noise from the room next door made it hard to hear my phone call. The other room upstairs was next to the elevator and thankfully I only heard the ding 5 times.

The rooms were freshly renovated and surprisingly clean and modernized. For the location I expected a motel vibe, but it felt really good for the price point. Smart HDR TV too. Very comfortable.

I was apprehensive about this hotel after reading some Google reviews. They talked about the noise of the airplanes and the noisy guests. Also had pictures of cockroaches. I decided to give it a chance because I believe in giving places a chance. I’m glad I did! My family and I had a great experience. Yes, we could hear the airplanes but the AC quiet the noise, as to the cockroaches there was none. I didn’t hear the ppl hanging outside like some reviews said. The place was very clean and it smelled good. The pool was an extra touch we enjoyed it all to ourselves, It was clean and it had clean towels something I don’t find in every hotel we stay in. We would definitely stay here another time.

Hotel can’t control all outside influences. But if your hotel is next to an airport, it would be nice to have thicker windows to knock down potential traffic noise. Other customers were loud, at late night hours and in the hallways. Of course hotel can’t help inconsiderate guests.
