Flew to Idaho to buy a car, driving it home. Stopped in this absolutely beautiful part of the country.
We looked through the site and were gobsmacked by the cost of the rooms in Missoula. (My hotel in Times Square didn’t cost this much!) It seemed that all of the hotels were in the same ballpark range so we chose this LaQuinta.
The room itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Everything you would expect at a La Quinta. And-bonus!-just outside our window about 15 feet, there ran a lovely little stream. We slept with the window open so we could hear it as we drifted off to sleep.
Now for the cons-
The building was under construction and because of this, there was no cantina for snacks or sundries. There IS a gas station about 100 feet away but brace yourself for the sticker shock! It would appear that everything in this beautiful town is outrageously expensive.
Like I said, the town is beautiful. And the room in itself was nice. And although we’d LOVE to come back when we can stay longer and really explore the town, it just doesn’t make good financial sense for us and our situation. (I never thought a vacation in Manhattan would be less expensive than a vacation in Missoula.)
