The staff was amazing, but the initial room given to us was unfortunate. We booked this hotel due to its proximity to a concert my husband and I were attending. Our initial room assignment was #1- not the type I booked (my reservation was for a single queen, we received two queens) - not a deal breaker, but annoying. What was the deal breaker is that upon entry, the smoke detector started chirping. I went down to the front desk and learned two things: #1- just because you book a type of room doesn’t mean you GET that type of room. It turns out they over booked the hotel and I was lucky to even get a room assignment there. #2- Their maintenance person was off property and couldn’t get to the alarm until the next day. We were told to remove the battery and they’d take care of it in the morning. We tried to do just that, thinking we’d go but a battery because I’m not sleeping in a hotel room (and I don’t think Ft. Worth Fire Marshall wants anyone to either) that doesn’t have a working detector. I just wanted my husband to nap before the show since he’s been up since 3:30 am for work. Anyway, we found out it’s hard wired, the battery is just a back up in case of power loss. We went back down to the lobby and then were given another room. This seems to just have been a fluke that just happened to us. The front desk person was very kind and apologetic. We have stayed here before, and will again. I just hope I don’t get another room with a malfunctioning smoke detector.
